To think that LSU got torched by this MSU team is just unfathomable. I don't care how bad Pelini or any individual player on the defense is, how the hell does this happen? Mississippi State honestly looks like the worst offense in the SEC, maybe except for Vanderbilt. It is honestly unbelievable that this Mississippi State team will go down in the single-game record books for most passing yards. Embarrassing

ETA: I still think this team can turn it around and win a few games, but I just can't fathom this MSU game

Pelini is the only one who couldn’t figure out how to adjust to it. He is simply no longer a top DC.

Transitive property not working again. Kiffin has zero points vs Arkansas, yes the same guy who scored 48 vs Alabama.

All you have to do is not play man.
Talent and player ability will take it from there.

Mike Leach has never played against a real defense.

Maybe Odum is a really good DC. Bo is not.

I have to agree. MSU is a bad football team. If this doesn’t irritate the LSU staff and players, then we have a real disaster on our hands going forward. Someone at LSU better wake the F- up real quick. I don’t mean coach speak. I mean get the shite corrected or have some heads roll immediately.

State hasn’t scored a TD in their past seven quarters of football.

Should be able to prosecute Pelini for fraud.

That’s one half. MSU has not scored a TD in 7 quarters across 3 games, hasn’t had a passing TD in 9

I was just going to start a topic on this and everyone beat me to it as I’ve now seen 3 just pop up, but it is ABSOLUTELY MIND BOGGLING, that Game and that Team and that QB will go down in history as the record setting 632 yds passing against DBU no less, The coaching staff will never live this down on the 21 recruiting trail—- I mean I’m baffled to understand that the highest paid DC couldn’t adjust whatsoever, any coach (HS or Junior High) could’ve done something. It just shows how bad our defense and defensive coaching has failed us as a team and fan base, this as the season goes on and Miss St gets exposed each week will be like a scab Being scratched off it may never heal. As I’m typing this Arkansas is shutting out Ole Miss at HT, it’s hard to find another game LSU might or could win.

Totally agree. I don't even think that this defense isn't capable of being good, because they obviously are, but seriously, what the hell? Their offense is SO bad. It's almost like they were playing against the air that day.

I personally believe LSU can turn it around this year and be OK, but that MSU game will go down as one of the biggest WTF games of all time.

He never was. LSU lucked into the NC that year. Bo had his shot and blew it against Arkansas. McFadden ran wild against Bo.

Pelini is horrible and it doesn't matter how much it cost, he has to walk! Keeping him is a death sentence for O because in college football you're only as good as your last game or your last hire! Coaches are hired to be fired and it's time for Pelini to resign while he still has a little dignity left or get embarrassed by getting fired!

From Yahoo Sports:
The Tigers have given up more points through three games than any time in program history. And don’t pin this on LSU needing to play three SEC games to open the season, either. LSU has lost to a pair of pedestrian unranked SEC teams that will be lucky to elevate to the league’s middle class.

Understanding all of the losses on the coaching staff and roster, it’s still striking at just how far LSU has fallen.

It’s difficult to pick the worst part about Missouri torching them for 586 total yards. Was it that redshirt freshman quarterback Connor Bazelak did it in his second career start? Or was it that Missouri accumulated 406 receiving yards despite three of their top five wideouts — including two starters — missing the game for COVID-19-related reasons?

I couldn't believe the narrative was "our guys don't know how to play zone". Really? Cover your area of the field and react to what's happening in front of you. We literally could have just played prevent D the whole game and it couldn't have been any worse.
