@sjnard: #Phillies first round pick RHP Aaron Nola will be promoted from Clearwater to AA Reading and pitch on Wednesday at home vs. Harrisburg.

Now he should be invited to spring training next year and start in triple a with a call up when someone gets injured next year if he performs well

historically that's true, but it seems the current trend these days for big league teams is to show off their new toys when the roster expands, maybe to start pushing next years ticket sales? I agree that in the past, there should be no way in hell, but you've got a lot of instant gratification GM's out there these days

Saying you wouldn't be surprised is pushing it. I would. And I don't know what you mean by instant gratification GMs. When it comes to pitching, if anything GMs are more cautious.
