My Stros are slumping. Got to get it all together soon. Only up a few on the league.

What makes Nola's stats impressive is he's on a shite team.

Great pitchers can compete on shite teams, but their won/loss totals don't properly reflect their performance. But yes, it is more difficult to pitch without run support if you are not mentally strong. We know that he is based on the lack of run support he got at LSU and managed to lose just 2 games his last 2 years. He should have had 6 more wins and been up for the career wins record in 3 years. That's how good he was.

That ERA, WHIP, etc BA against him, tells his story the last 2 months.
Here's an excerpt from an article before today's game. It's now 10 games and 68 1/3 innings plus lowering those stats.

"Nola, who celebrated his two-year big league anniversary three weeks ago, hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a start since June 16. He has a 1.76 ERA over that nine-start run, and held hitters to a .207/.262/.317 slash line while sporting a 1.04 WHIP and a 70-to-17 strikeout-to-walk rate in 61 1/3 innings.".

Agreed. Watched some of the game on MLB.TV...his CU, with movement, is devastating. Kd Cespedes and Conforto, two hot hitters, by keeping them off balance with his pitches. He is pitching well for a bad team in a hitter's ball park. Hope he continues to have success.
