A Slimmer Anthony Johnson Turning Heads in New England

Watching Johnson Thursday against the Bears only reinforced the question. He dominated. Working as an interior rusher with the first team defense, Johnson batted down an early Jay Cutler pass. Later, he converged on Cutler with second-year defensive end Trey Flowers, splitting the sack. He then broke through the offensive line to drop Chicago running back Jacquizz Rodgers three yards behind the line of scrimmage, and he later forced a Brian Hoyer incompletion with his pressure up the middle. Johnson was everywhere Thursday, stating his case for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Hopefully the big-man puts it all together.

Agreed. I'd love to see him in a Saints uniform though.

Would've been a star with proper coaching at LSU

He physically matured long before his peers and they caught up with him.
Great guy and good college player. Really hope he makes it in the NFL, he works his arse off and deserves it.

Bears must not have been double teaming him, right?

New England is the best chance for him to make it. Players go there to revive careers. That franchise does wonders for forgotten players still trying to make it. They just seem to bring out the best in very average to marginal NFL guys. Look at Dion Lewis, he was out of the league for two years and ended up being one of the best RB's last year before he got injured. They simply get the best of of people, like them or not.

...and depth. He and Ego Ferguson were on the field entirely too long for the majority of the 2013 season.
