LSU gets to rest injured players at least another week including O-line and Fournette. With Southern Miss. next week, they can take easy on key positions for an additional week of 'rest'.

This also allows the team to get more acclimated to Coach O's style and how he wants the offense to flow.

I think not practicing for 3 hours like Les had them doing. I'm interested in how that plays out in November.

That's all true but I still wanted to play today. Especially since FSU and Miami are playing right now. Foley shite the bed on this!

Agreed and should have played either today or this weekend.

If we play well, people will say it's because we're rested. If we play poorly, everyone will say it's because we don't practice enough.

Yep

Now our team can spend time watching film and game planning rather than running the toss dive 60 times and doing the big cat drill. Plus rest, plus implementing new plays and recruiting.

Yep, we don't need our starters when we're playing against vaginas.

I keep reading about the offense getting better w this extra time, but the team didn't use any of this time off to practice offense, best I can tell anyway.

The only positive that can come from this would be LSU gaining some respect from the SEC after so many repeated slights.

I'm not holding my breath.

Indeed.
A cancelled LSU game works everyday and twice on Sunday for UF . . . and it works for Bama too. If Tenn loses to Bama, Uf gains the inside track to Atlanta. Slick stuff.

The fact that Sankey did not write the word "forfeit" anywhere on his "whiteboard" is disgusting. The fact that Alleva did not insert that word "forfeit" into the dialogue Tuesday and Wednesday when it was obvious Foley was refusing to even consider contingencies is mind boggling.

"Forfeit" was the leverage. In not introducing it, it's evident Sankey was not interested in closing the "deal". As an out-and-out cancellation helps Bama by disadvantaging it's most likely competitor for the SECCG, motivations for going soft on UF are obvious.

But with Tennessee screaming bloody murder, Sankey realizes he and his "whiteboard" have some additional 'splaining to do. The Danielson interview did not help his cause. UTenn fans are going nuts over this.

Cramming an extra game into the middle of our schedule disadvantages LSU. Anyway you shuffle that deck, it makes things more difficult for LSU. Alleva should not agree to that. First solution is to simply change this year's SEC-W ranking format to fewest SEC losses rather than winning percentage.

No way Bama goes for that though, and Sankey is beholden to Bama

So in the end, if LSU (or UF) wins out, the LSU-UF game will be played Dec 3rd with the SECCG moved back to Dec 10th. Though it is set to make a decision on Dec 3rd, the playoff selection committee already has a Dec 10th contingency built in (d/t the Dec10th Army-Navy game).

Meanwhile, if LSU and UF each drop another game, there will be no make up game.

That's what Sankey's 'whiteboard' will show.

Spinoff - Our backups miss an SEC game where they can learn and gain experience before playing a physical November schedule.

I appreciate your optimism, but from an experience standpoint, I'd much rather get this game in and continue seeing the new changes implemented in a game like scenario with everything that entails.
