I submit Pitt hanging 43 on the eventual national champions (in Death Valley).

LINK

I guarantee you that Canada knows what he's doing.

Clemson finished the season #10 in the country in YPG allowed in 2016, BTW.

I mean, I know we saw like 457 threads about this game during the offseason, but I totally forgot this ever happened.

It deserves being reiterated in light of the "vanilla/not enough passing/Miles 2.0" comments in the wake of the BYU game.

What's more important is zero 3 and outs. You can expect more low scoring [if at all] from the opposition when this keeps happening.

So, Canada beat the national champs.

And now Canada works for us.

So we should beat the national champs.

Alright, no excuses.

Etling was 14-17. That to me was encouraging to see. When we passed it, we were effective. And that's going to ramp up the further into the season we get. Orgeron has stated he wants a 50-50 balance. Anyone who wants air raid needs to remember that we have Guice.

I think you'll see Guice getting more involved in the passing game

Oh totally. More screens, "shuffle" passes, this offense is going to be dynamic.

CEO is correct. Air Raid doesn't win championships. Only 2 teams in the last 20 years have won a title with a strong tilt to passing and that was FSU with NFL QB and Heisman winner Winston Jameis and last year with Clemson and Deshaun Watson [still had 2500 yards rushing and an 1100 yard rusher]. The last team that won with a strong tilt to running was Auburn with NFL QB and Heisman winner Cam Newton.

So unless you have a freak, duel-threat QB -- seek balance.

Why do people even give these stupid arse comments the time of day? Not even worth addressing

He also scored ZERO against Clemson in 2014.

Clemson threw the ball 57 times in the NC game vs. Bama.

You have to be able to throw it

if I recall correctly, that first incomplete pass hit a tight end in both hands. Should have been an easy catch basically.

I don't think anyone is arguing that.

This. When's the last time you can remember any LSU QB completing 82% of his passes?

Nobody, or barely anybody I should say, wants an air raid. Hell, 30 passes a game isn't air raid. Air raid is something like 40+ passes a game and only 21 one teams did that last year. At 30 passes a game, you'd rank 71st out of 128.

No that's wrong. They didn't have a strong tilt to passing.

FSU - 31.6 passes and 36.1 rushes
Clemson - 41.9 passes to 39.3 rushes

I will agree that every champion has been either balanced (i.e. Oklahoma 00', USC 04') or very run heavy (Auburn 10', Bama 12').

If LSU decides to up the tempo to 75 on average for the tougher games (you know the games where the teams actually have a good offense or defense), I'd like us to fly around that 45/30, run/pass average.

Canada uses what works. With Pitt last season, Peterman threw 37 times for over 300yds (only 300 yard game)and put up 43 points to beat Clemson.

Against Rose Bowl bound Penn St Peterman threw 15 times for 91 yards and they scored 42 points to beat Penn St because they ran for 344 yards.

He will adjust to his opponent.

2013
Mett vs UAB 17/20 (85%) 293 yards 5 TDs
Mett vs Miss St 25/29 (86.2%) 340 yards 2 TDs 1 int

We've had QBs hit 70%+ at least once a year
