Gumps, you are missing the point of this thread. It has nothing to with how many championships. It's Tiger Stadium and the LSU spirit. There never has been and never will be a better place to watch college football. It wasn't till recently that Bama even played all their home games in the same stadium.

I'll bet the house on that. LSU will be unbeatable next year.

Actually considering LSU's history it wouldn't have neen enough of a challenge for him to be your Bear Bryant. He would have only had to win an SEC Championship once every 15 or so years and a Natty once every 40 or 50 years. Bwaa Haww Haww. At Bama he has a bonafied challenge trying to catch Bear and he's already on his way. When Bama wins this years Natty he will do what Bear never did and win 3 Natty's in 4 years. Then when we win it next year he will have the first 3 peat in NCAA history as Bear was twice cheated out of 3 peats by Notre Dame. RTR!

Gumps tell us again how many mythical champion ships u won? I lost my arse in betting on Bama the second year Bear played ND in a bowl game. They got their asses kicked again & cost me some big money. I have to admit I the one who made a mistake betting on Bama!

On third and long Parsigian pull a Miles and had Theisman throw a pass against a defense which had shut the pass down all night. Why? Because he was scared shitleds of Bama's offense. He knew if he punted from there, Bama would only need 1 first down to kick a field goal and win. No one in the stadium expected that damn pass.

that's pretty interesting since Joe Theisman's senior year at Notre Dame was 1970 .. That was Tom Clements that threw the pass to Robin Weber out of his end zone .. Al Hunter burned you guys with a 93-yard KO Return for a TD in that game ...

In 1977, Notre Dame beat #7 defending national champ Pittsburgh, #5 USC, #15 Clemson, and #1 Texas ... Alabama beat #1 USC, #18 LSU, and #9 Ohio State that season ... You beat USC 21-20 .. Notre Dame destroyed USC 49-19 that season ... you, like Notre Dame, lost to an unranked team .. Nebraska had fallen out of the top 20 the previous week when they lost to unranked Washington State at home ... that Nebraska team wound up playing in the Liberty Bowl ... when you look at the two seasons side-by-side, it wasn't the rape you make it out to be .. Notre Dame beat a damn good Texas team with the Heisman Trophy winner, Earl Campbell, in the Cotton Bowl ..

The only Bitch in Bear's 25 years at Bama was LSU. 30 years without a win, 17 straight in Death Valley (BDS West).

what are you talking about ? LSU beat Alabama 4 times while Bryant was head coach .. Bryant beat LSU 6 times in a row in Tiger Stadium .. not even close to 17 .. Charles McClendon was his only former assistant coach to ever beat him twice too ... the LSU win in 1982 was the worst manhandling Bama had ever gotten under Bryant, according to the Bear himself ..
