The abuse of the clock and the confusion is what pisses me off most. That has to be the 5th or 6th time this year that we come out of a timeout and players dont know the play. How is that possible. (and its the last play of the f'ing game for us, and our WRs dont know if they're in/out or where to go ????

The biggest problem in this game, IMO, is the same problem we've been having for almost 2 years running... a non-productive offense, a lack of appropriate play calling, clock management, and inadequate use of people in skill positions. All of the above. It goes on...

Agreed. No offense - i.e., only 1 first down and no sustained drives in 2nd half - is what lost the game in my view.

Do you think Miles actually knows both his options at QB leave a lot to be desired? Surely he must as all the "experts" here seem to know it. That said, maybe the game plan made some sense - keep the clock running and keep the game close. That's really not a bad plan when you think about it, and we did have a shot to win it in the end (OK, so there was another clusterfrick with the last play for the Tigers, but that is another debate, this one is about the game plan).

This is what I've been arguing since we decided to play both guys.

So while the merits can be debated, perhaps they didn't want to force the ball down field given the risk of turn overs

Did you even watch the game, particulalry the first series. He threw about 4 very poor passes and one finally got picked off. They had no game plan, only adjusting when they absolutley had to.

ADD IN THE POST SEASON GAME BONUS, AND HE COULD POTENTIALLY MAKE OVER 6 MILLION A YEAR

So sure, in hindsight it seems the game plan sucked but had we won, maybe we'd be having a different debate?

There's a crowd of people who think the final result is the only way to judge a game and that if you won the game then you shouldn't be too critical about what went wrong.

Unfortunately, I think Miles is part of that crowd.

If we throw some perfectly thrown balls down the field we should be just as worried out WRs will drop them n

I really think the whole play was planned. If TT runs a slant, he takes it to the house b/c Bynes was pulled to the opposite side of the field when Murphy went in motion...TT was one on one!!!

Thanks. You actually just proved my point. Many here are bitching that the game plan was horrible because we didn't attack Auburn where it was weak, in the secondary. Given our limitations at QB, maybe that's the last thing this staff wanted to do.

That's basically Miles's game plan for every game against decent opponents, and that's a big part of the reason so many of us want him to coach somewhere else.
That's the maddening thing about the guy. You want to pull for him, but it's like he purposefully makes things just good enough and no better. We have had previously unheard-of levels of talent in his time at LSU, and instead of seeing that translate to a really great product on the field, we've seen ugly plodding close-to-the-vest football, albeit with a lot of wins.
