This team is not lacking talent.

TCU is really good and Texas Tech isn't a bottom feeder. They are a legitimate top 10 team.

Coach mistakes and mental errors can be improved and need to be if we are going to make a deep run.

Lange was off pretty bad and started forcing pitches. I was kind of upset he never slowed down. I don't think he has regressed. I just think he got caught and he let it affect him mentally.

Poche is playing very well. Glad he came back.

Some of the sloppy fielding plays, baserunning, and coaching needs to be improved, but I see no reason why it wouldn't.

I suspect both TCU and Tech make it deep this year. Hopefully we meet again.

i understand the TCU frustration because Scholssnagle has had his way with Paul. I don't see the big deal losing to a top 10 team by one run in a bizarre ending

I agree. I look at both of those games and do not feel like we were outclassed.

CPM does have his issues at times, but so do the players.

We sould be able to rely on Lange going longer than 2 freaking innings. Just wasn't his night.

Same thing with some of the fielding errors.

After years of watching CPM mishandle pitchers when would you consider it not an overreaction?

This team is very talented and hopefully won't be wasted with another failure to reach Omaha.

It's a culmination of not meeting the standard that this program set for itself. It's a culmination of consistently having some of the strongest recruiting classes in the nation and consistently failing to win a championship. There's too much talent and too much money allocated in this program for us to be losing to teams like Stony Brook and Coastal Carolina and going 0-2 every time we get to Omaha.

It's time for the program to take a new direction, with a new coaching staff.

But we lost to the #1 team and #8 team.

Not Coastal Carolina and Stony Brook.

I get it though.

I agree with most of the OPs post with the exception of coaching. I'm not anti PM as many are here. I think he is a overall a good coach, but his weakness seems to be when to pull the pitchers. He seems to try to stay with his pregame plan whether the individual guy is doing great or getting rocked. Sometimes a guy is getting outs, but the opposing hitters are crushing the ball and hitting in bad luck like Walker in the 6th. Yes PM pulled him but I think it was due to the PC at 90. Peterson just didn't have it today and should have been pulled at least a couple of hitters earlier.

Having driven out Miles and soon, hopefully, Jones, will we now turn on Manieri until it's time to turn on Orgeron before the eventual turn on the next basketball or baseball coach?

Maybe the issue is us.

This, that's all it is, year after year. I'm not saying CPM needs to be fired this instant for his inabilities but he sure as shite didn't need an extension.

Ok the team is talented. But our coach sucks plain and simple. If LSU wins another NC I will eat crow. what I am seeing is PM is our down fall year in and year out.

What makes you think coaching mistakes can be improved? PM constantly makes the same mistakes year in and year out..

Yes, and they were a strong, well-coached squad, as we witnessed.

It is overreaction for the most part this weekend was a meat grinder but I certainly hope the offense hasn't cooled off for good

You mean the team that won it all and had half the team drafted? Yeah, how dare we lose to them!

Pumps and MA's have a big full bag of them that they pull out after every loss.

"Defense of the Meds" is rampant on here; even more so in Baseball than football.

Oh boy, those silly little "That's Baseball" nut burgers.

I need to change my TR Board name to GivemeabreakBanghead because I use those emoticons so often. Can't help it. They are well deserved.
