Why did you ask the question then?

To see what others thought, and if they thought differently.

Is that so odd?

A fanbase booing an undefeated team/national championship winning coach is close.

But I dont think a coach making an attempt do defend his players from abusive behavior is tawdry. Maybe misguided in the way he presented his argument, but not cheap.

I'm not far from agreeing with you, though.

My whole point has to do with Miles' approach.

I cant believe what I just read! This coach (Miles ) hasnt got a clue about this team or football... risking thier lives out there, using another qb ( whats his name?) He has to earn it? What a bumbeling idiot! Coffee? wifes dress? what has this to do with football? When you are attending school you get grades to see how you are doing...like last in offence isnt a passing grade last time i looked... thank god he lets or dc handle the defence . can you imagine where we would be if he coached that side also? Give us someone that can coach and chew gum at the same time please

Reasonable minds can disagree, I wish he would have just taken a "Im a man, Im 40" approach versus the coffee pot approach.

A fan base booing an undefeated team

I like your word choice here. Although it's completely unrepresentative to reality. Lets fix this up a little bit. Maybe add a little context as well.

A.) A fan base booing a currently undefeated head coaches decisions. Undefeated thus far in the season, which isn't even half way over and has played a cake schedule relative to what lies ahead in the schedule, beginning at week 6.

B.) A fan base booing the offensive coordinator's decision to continually run a play that has, thus far, proven ineffective.

C.) A fan base booing a coach who's flat out decieved the fan base with his comments two years in a row now. A coach who's even turned DANDY DON on him.

D.) A fan base booing when a qb makes terrible plays because they've been wanting to see the other qb get a shot. Baseball has relief pitchers for this very reason. Not to mention, the qb who's made comments insenuating that he see's nothing wrong with his own performance because he's 4-0 (thanks to his teamates)

Now, I want you to go back and change the phrase "fan base" to "people in that fan base." Poor Les attacked the entire fan base for the actions of some of it's members. For all you know 30 of the 90k ppl were booing...

As I said, your usage of the word team is terrible as well. If anyone on the team is being boo'd, it's ONE PERSON @ most, but even then MOST people are booing LES MILES. WHO IS NOT A PLAYER ON THAT TEAM, BUT A COACH GETTING PAID MILLIONS TO TAKE HEAT.

Those player's aren't just representing themselves. Or even their team (as listed on the roster). Or even LSU. They are representing not only the State of Louisiana, but the ideal of what it is to be an elite team in the most powerful conference in the NCAA for the last decade.

With that said, JJ's remarks are unacceptable. Les Miles remarks are unacceptable. The crowd is who that team represents, because they too, are citizens of Louisiana, and many of them students at LSU.

The negatigers need to support their team and quit whining. If any of these know-nothings are even remotely as successful in their chosen profession as Miles is in his, it would be a shock. Miles is near the top of his, has achieved a national championship, and continues to field an outstanding team. It's nice that the Rant provides a forum for all these idiots to vent, but it probably hurts the team and recruiting far more than any other single factor. If only a few of the negatigers who have all the answers would share their knowledge with Miles and Crowton, I'm sure that all the "problems" would vanish instantly.

If the fanbase is booing and undefeated team then everyone should see the writing on the wall. They are just itching to jump all over this guy but cant quite yet. Les drops 1 game and its over. The meltdown will be epic and Les will never be able to regain the program.

You have only to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come down.

No, Les's "committment to the run" will take care of that.

I see your point, but it can be an effective tool. Players don't like getting booed and there is no older trick in the coach's playbook than the old Us Against Them routine... even if it's your own fans. anyone is a serviceable Them.

If it rallies the troops and makes them play better on the "no one believed in us!" grounds, then I'm good with it.

You, and your ilk are reprensenting Louisiana and LSU fanbase and that is what's really embarassing.
I know of 2 OoS prospects that have recently commented they'd rather not play where the Fanbase eats their own.
Your type will be the ruination of LSU, not JJ and not Miles.

They both said you'd think the fans were following UGA, not LSU.

So 30k folks booing college age kids over a game is the way you want your state represented.

I have a feeling that if class walked up and bit you in the arse you would think it was a beagle.

Let's see. Arkansas' commitment to the pass is what got them beat. WVU commitment to the pass is what got them beat. Alabama almost lost because of their commitment to the pass. And South Carolina lost because of their commitment to the pass. The pass is what caused the turnovers that lost these games for these teams. Running is what won Saban a NC last year and allowed them to go undefeated in SEC play two years in a row. In the SEC if you can't run then you can't win. You're trying to blame the commitment to the run? Last year, we were not committed to the run and we lost to every ranked opponent.

Its as if his teams didn't underachieve the last two years, as if 8-5 and 9-4 are acceptable at LSU with the talent level we have...

I think he's on his way out, either we get rid of him or he'll just move on.
