I think the more prevailing sentiment was that a replacement isn't always a sure thing.

I can assure you that the Les supporters I speak of are the ones like Choctaw, LUNCHBOX, Beefense, etc... I apologize for generalizing and my exaggeration. This all stems from this Posi/Nega bullshite that people so love to create in every facet of life.

I would never support going forward with the firing of a coach of Miles resume without the proper vetting and securing of an adequate replacement. Anyone who would is obtuse. This argument was just an excuse for those who wanted Les retained. From many legitimate sources after the fact, it seems the Jimbo deal was on the table. This makes the whole argument null and void.

What about all of those that were refuting that replacing him was the right idea, the ones I was referring to? What about those? Because surely you don't deny that plenty on here refused to get on board with anything to do with Les not being LSU's football coach next year?

I just want those people to claim ownership of their stance, as I do mine. All of these people arguing the same thing over and over, quickly devolving every thread to personal attacks and name calling... I want it to be known that they mock any idea opposing their own is not being a true fan or supporting LSU, yet should Les be removed, this entire charade would just invert and the extreme of those that were outraged at the idea of firing Les would immediately become the ones that look for failure to support their position -- just as those of the extreme side of removing Les would relentlessly back the replacement and ignore any failures or slips.

It is a parade of fools, and I am quickly seeing why I had never put myself through the agony of posting and trying to reason with these people. It's like Facebook, or even worse, Twitter. I could never understand why these people would post their uninformed opinions and think it was worthwhile for others...

And you can also find people who think Obama is doing a good job.

let me try to explain it to you. They went after Jimbo but weren't willing to overpay for him (which is exactly what Sexton was trying to do) especially when you have a coach like Miles still here.

if we would've had back to back losing seasons (like '98 and '99) than it probably would've been a different story and they would've paid 7 mill/year for Jimbo.

it didn't happen...Miles is still here....get the frick over it

Wow, if that's true you all are retarded. You mean you all wanted him fired when he had three straight 10+ win seasons and won two BCS bowls including a NC? You'd rather see a man get fired just because of a couple games instead of seeing the program prosper under him as it did. You were ready to push him out the door before he even got inside. Pretty dumb. Though I've come to expect that from your Miles hater crowd.

Why did you respond to my post? You obviously didn't read it.

Who are they polling for crying out loud?

Possibly some of the 70 or 80000(Estimate out of 100K) who were screaming for him to stay last Saturday night. Obviously most of those folks don't pay attention to the Rant.

On here? Honestly it wasn't that many. Even Beefense conceded that it might be time for Miles to go. I think Choc was at peace with it as well.

I really don't remember that many stauch defenders screaming for Les to stay on tRant.

A lot of his defenders are now defending the position to keep Miles, but I believe most had conceded the fact that he was gone or probably needed to leave before last Saturday.
