This was not a match up of the undefeated as Alabama had lost to Ole Miss in the third week of the season.

LSU was however, undefeated, ranked #2 in the country. We also were holding on to the #1 recruiting class in the country. We also had a legitimate Heisman contender in Leonard Fournette.

We lost by 2 touchdowns that day, Fournette was not a factor with just 32 yards rushing. His Heisman hopes all but disappeared.

It was the beginning of the end for Les Miles. He would coach just 8 more games.

In any case Joe Burrow is far better than Brandon Harris, our receiver core is about the best we have ever had and the coaches clearly understand that running into the meat of Alabama's monster front 7 will not get us anywhere.

Anyway....the point was:
(1) Whatever happens tomorrow, let us not give up on Coach O, the coaches, the players and Joe Burrow. They have all done heck of job

(2) Hopefully win or lose, the team will be ready to look beyond the Bama game and be ready to run the table. It is important to make a push for the playoffs.

(3) Please do not call for firings. Remember this is not just a #3 team in the country. This is a mega dynasty run by the greatest coach in the history of NCAA football, aided by refs and conference officials who will not let them lose. It is a heck of a challenge.

(4) Also look around and see some fallen powerhouses, Texas, Tennessee, Nebraska, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Florida (to some extent).

We are very lucky and privileged to be fans of this program, through three coaches and almost 20 years.

What a pussy post that pre-excuses a loss. Orgeron is paid to win. Miles was specifically replaced because he couldn't beat Bama. Win the fricking game. No more horseshite excuses.

If you make beating Nick Saban the sole key performance metric of a LSU head coach, then be prepared to hire and fire every 3 - 4 years and pay buyouts that will drive this program bankrupt.

Miles and LSU steadily declined and LSU went 4-4 in the SEC. It might have been 0-4 in the west.

And yet the running game may be critical to beating THIS Bama team

Wow... Bad look bro. You want to concede the "L" before we even line up and play. Bama is beatable and tomorrow is their reckoning. So just put on an extra maxi-pad, get yo hair and nails done and enjoy the game.

No, he wasn’t fired because he couldn’t beat Bama. It was the 31-0 losses to Arky and the time mismanagement vs Ole Miss, Tenn, and Auburn. Also the inability to have a resemblance of a passing game (except with Mettenberger). If Alabama was his only loss or one of two or three losses a year then he would still be here. LSU started to decline and Orgeron has started to bring us back to a powerhouse. We will find out Saturday if we can play with the big boys.

Of course it shouldn't be the sole performance metric for our head coach, but the reality is that we have to play Bama/Saban every year. We will have to beat them to obtain our ultimate goals which are winning an SEC and national title. If we can't beat them, we aren't gonna accomplish those goals.

Bama has a 65 to 75% chance of winning according to every model out there.

We have a good chance to win.

Setting unrealistic yardsticks and acting like this is a program defining game is ridiculous.

This team/program is a year or two ahead of,schedule.

Bama has 10 players expected to go in the top 50 of this, years draft. We have 3.

Our O line and D line are still very average

We can still win because of Burrow and our receivers and our scheme.
