1) Poche only threw 65 pitches last night. Does Mainieri let him come back on Saturday for inning or a situational out if necessary?

2) With the rainout last week at GA, are we going to add a midweek game to replace it? After the Sat May 2 game vs Moo St, we have a break until Fri May 8 vs Missouri.

Should we try to add ULL (#37 RPI), Tulane (#40), Rice (#47) SELU (#54) or SMiss (#80) on Tues or Wed, if possible?

3) Foster's defense still scares me. On the potential DP ball, it looked like he was trying to field the ball and toss it to Bregman with his glove all in one motion.

We just need consistent play, and not highlight type plays. Is he trying to do too much or does he lose his focus?

No we are not adding a midweek game.

We are in the middle of a heated battle for the SEC. Who cares about a midweek game.

0% chance imo. Remember Poche was coming off 4 days rest.

Dude he hasnt played infield since high school. Hes an incredible athlete that will make incredible plays and continue to mess up a routine play every now and then. He is only going to continue getting better at the position as the season progresses.

That's exam week. We're not going to schedule another game.

The break between Miss. St. and Missouri is for exams.

I think it's possible simply BCPM. Maybe not likely but his last two outings, no matter how close together, we very short.

I can't remember ever adding a game. But I don't have the best memory. Can't see us doing it here.

He tries to do too much. He wants to make the spectacular play every chance he gets even if it's not the smart play.

A last minute midweek game against someone sorry will not help our rpi. Would probably hurt it.

As an OF playing IF, he should know better.

on foster - it is what is -- pull him out of the game late & he is not in to score the winning run i.e. bit a & m when they pulled the backend baserunner & then have to put in a 200 hitter w/ 2 out - bases loaded
that why they pay coach big bucks!

My first thought when he was taken out. If Poche was on normal rest, I don't think CPM would have had a problem leaving him in longer, or bringing him back Saturday for situational stuff. As it is, I don't think we'll see Poche again until MSU.

As for the midweek, I think there may be an NCAA rule against playing games during finals week. I know there is for basketball.

there is no reason from an RPI stand point to add a game. take care of business the next couple weeks and we are a natty lock. also, your scenario only works if the team you are trying to play has had a cancellation on their schedule. 56 game max.

1. Not bringing Poche back, no need to this series, only in a regional would that be necessary

2. Not going to add a game, can't during dead week.
If it was a home game they probably would.

3. Offense over d

I realize SOS was trying to be funny when he said why worry about midweek games.

Here's what midweek games do for you...

Collin Strall hadn't pitched in an SEC game since KY on Mar 29. Do you think he would have been able to come into an SEC game in the top of the 9th against A&M with the score tied and the bases loaded and struck out the batter without the benefit of having thrown in a midweek game?

Danny Zardon hadn't had an AB in an SEC game since KY on Mar 29. Do you think he would have the game winning hit vs A&M in the bottom of the 9th last night without having seen live pitching in a month?

And with an abundance of fresh arms, he should not be needed anyway.
