LSU only stuck one of their 6 bar dismounts. Giving away too many 0.05 of a point, it all adds up a bit

THey have GOT to take advantage today. It doesn't need to be 198 but it needs to 197.7+; they are going to have to find some landings; Savannah gave away a tenth; the rest probably gave away at least .05 including Kiya.

And LSU did not have one routine break a 9.9 on bars, if t 3 or 4 of those routines stuck their dismount, the rotation score would be nearly .200 higher

The first gymnast stuck her dismount. They look relaxed but just couldn’t quite find those landings. I noticed Konnor missed her Church Pak combo but covered very well. We didn’t have a good camera angle but maybe doing the routine like that on purpose may help her pak from getting too close on the catch.

I also thought the gymnasts seemed to be making a real effort to hold the arms above the head on their salute after the dismount for a full second. Maybe they were thinking a little too much about those dismounts and holding the final position?

Felt the same about Konnor's option B routine, it looks less rushed. The dismount is perfect, only the stick missing, but looks closer every week. Overall good bars rotation to start, but nothing spectacular. Some close catches on single bar releases and the obvious little hops. Let's geaux

Aleah's vault looks worse than last year, like she isn't controlling the landings nearly as much as she did last year.

Is Brock struggling this bad in practice?

They just don’t have any fight in them. No one is going for the landings. Good thing we go to floor after this. They need another chance to get some energy going. This is already looking like a low 197 (assuming no big mistakes) unless they really turn things around.

To be fair, UGA isn’t sticking anything either. Just something in the air tonight. Maybe it’s the meet being early?

Kiya’s vault wasn’t that good either. Form was not good at all.

Her vault form has fallen off a bit since her first two years. Kinda difficult to maintain a double, especially with her injury history and having to work with limited vaults

I mean it will be very difficult to go 197.5. THey have to show up, they just don't seem to have any urgency or finesse on the road. They HAVE to figure it out.

Kiya’s form has definitely fallen off and also her block doesn’t seem to be as good. However, the judges do seem happy to award her the 9.9 even with a small hop and the form issues so I suppose you take the consistent 9.9 which she seems to be settling into after early season struggles.

I wish I knew what was going on with Brock. Why did she exhibition a full recently? Maybe there is some mental block there?

Last week they said she had a little soreness (ankles?). Maybe still a problem and they need her for post season.
