I already know the likelihood of Turang making it into an LSU uniform. Just for fun, with Turang in the lineup, what do you think we will look like?

Friday night starter and closer.

Also will play SS and CF at the same time. Will bat 3rd, 4th, and leadoff.

Just for the thought experiment:

1. Turang - SS
2. Duplantis - RF
3. Cabrera - LF
4. Garza - 1B
5. Watson - CF
6. Smith - 3B
7. Jordan - DH
8. Willis/Mathis - C
9. Broussard/Dugas - 2B

Turang is going to bat 3 hole with Cabrera batting cleanup.

Having Watson/Josh Smith at 5/6 is pretty sick. Broussard's speed in the 9 hole is nice as well.

That's definitely hitting 1-9 an OMAHA line up!

As long as Watson isn't batting 1st. 5th or maybe 6th is where Watson should be imo

It would be nice if we can finally have Duplantis in the 2 hole again...where he belongs.

I want you to know that I was making my order before you ever said this and that I don't like agreeing with you on a hypothetical.

The lineup should be good regardless, but it really seems like if Turang comes it just really compliments and rounds everything out.

A fuching national champion.

Would likely bet

1. Josh Smith 3B
2. Watson CF
3. Duplantis RF
4. Cabrera LF

5-9 some combination of:

Turang SS
Gavin Dugas or Drew Bianco at 2nd
Cade Beloso 1B
No idea at C Maybe Garza
Bryce Jordan DH

We're going to have a lot of legit hitters next year. Kind of odd how we still don't have a normal/classic lead-off hitter. It will probably be Josh Smith by default.

Smith isn't a bad lead-off hitter though. He gives you everything besides great speed. His bat should probably be somewhere where he can drive in runs though.

Duplantis is the perfect "classic" lead-off hitter. But he's also been our best hitter and PM likes to put that guy batting 2nd.

I know that Dups is an RBI machine, but why hasn’t he ever batted lead off for us? He is the toughest out and works the count with the best. (I realize that i probably answered my own question)

Ell juuust beat me

Impossible. All I hear is how every player that CPM recruits is 5’8” 160lb.

I agree with you though. Maybe Dugas but I think they want Smith there just to get him more ABs throughout the season.

Because we've needed him to bat in the 3 hole for the last 2 years.

In a perfect world...Dups should be in the 1 or 2 hole.
