Will Mainieri rally his Tigers to break even and finish at least 6-5 against inferior and unranked Louisiana schools? It will be a close finish.

We're the 4th best team in Louisiana, and people are debating whether or not this is a CWS team. We won't even win the state championship!!!

It's baseball. Even the best teams will lose 30% of their games. Calm down, midweek games don't really mean much in the grand scheme of things as you're pitching the 4th or 5th best. The other LA schools are good, but LSU gets most of the top talent

It will mean a lot in Omaha when we have to play multiple games in a short period of time... against teams who are actually good. And we will be pitching these same pitchers.

Then we shouldn't be fighting to break .500 against them

Ole Paul is on wwl 870. I'll post some of it here.

"It's more challenging when playing a game on Tuesday. Blah blah blah excuses, looking forward, blah excuses Newman should be ready this weekend. "

This will be the same story until PM is gone and why hate on Southeastern? They have a good program going on over there with an very young ball coach.

If there is any sport that this doesn't matter as much in, it's baseball.

Teams make mistakes, batters and pitchers have off nights, and pure athletic ability cannot bail you out like in football and basketball.

Unless you are talking about the Louisiana Colleges of the world, SELU, McNeese, Nicholls, ULL, and Tulane have enough talent to beat LSU if the Tigers aren't on their game.

Can you name one player from an in state school who got an offer from LSU and say, nah I'm good?

Maybe a kid from STM ends up at ULL or a Jesuit kid ends up at Tulane, but outside of a couple instances, does any person in their right mind turn down a shot to play at LSU?
