Here is what we have left...
Returning(2016 Class)
Brandon Sampson, SG, So.
Antonio Blakeney, SG, So.
Elbert Robinson III, C, Jr.
Jalyn Patterson, PG, Jr.
Brian Brigewater, PF, Sr.
Aaron Epps, F, Jr.
Craig Victor II, PF, Jr.
Brandon Eddlestone, F, Sr.
Henry Shortess, G, Sr.
Incoming Freshmen (National Ranking)
Skylar Mays (145), G, University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA)
Size: 6'4", 190 lbs
Wayde Sims (257), SF, University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA)
Size: 6'6", 210 lbs
Kieran Hayward (293), St.Joseph's College (Sydney, SW)
Size: 6'5", 187 lbs
JUCO Transfers (National Ranking)
Duop Reath (11), PF, Lee College (TX)
Size: 6'9", 220 lbs
Branden Jenkins (20), SG, Lee College (TX)
Size: 6'4", 180 lbs
Projected 2016-17 Starting Line-Up
PG - J.Patterson/S.Mays
SG - A. Blakeney/B.Sampson
SF - W. Sims
PF - Craig Victor
C - E. Robinson III
I am just not sure why we would recruit so many freaking guards. We only have a handful of big men and they are all PF's at best, not Centers. E-Rob will have to be our Center because if they move Victor over to the 5, they will ruin his talent. He is a great PF, not a C.
Anyways, what do you all think or does anyone have more insight for next season based on recruits and returning players?
Whatever happened to Sampson?

We have zero depth at C and PF position. Zero.

If Robinson is starting, we're in trouble.
Better hope Reath can ball.

Unfortunately, JJ is that bad..

I never talk badly about kids that choose to be at LSU, but Darcy Malone has to be my least favorite LSU basketball player of all time, not even close. He looks like a giant penis and is a certified professional at turning the ball over. How he is still on this roster is mind numbing.

And he always looks pissed off when he screws up, as if it isn't his fault he does stupid things. I cringe when he comes in the game.

I think I could walk on and take Darcy's scholarship. I'm 6'5 230. Coach jones let me get that.

Average talent at best with way below average coaching.

That would be a disaster.
Next year Johnny will have to rely heavily on 2 juco players and a freshman point guard...The season will most probably be ugly.

1) Patterson isn't a pg, he's a 6' tall SG.
2) shortess graduated as a junior, jones knew this and that's why he got a scholarship.
2) blakeney hasn't announced his return.

Yea, you cant have that many scholarship players, as listed in the OP

I'm pretty sure the number is 13 and we are at 12 if tone returns. Let's see if jones earns his money and goes after a transfer or just holds that scholarship in his back pocket

If reath can start at center we won't be that bad

A 6'9 uproven center. Wonderful

I agree, but only if (big if) Reath is good, and he & Victor can both play 40 minutes, not get into foul trouble, and never get injured.

This team won't make tourney, and Johnny will finally be fired. Johnny is a lame duck this year and I'm worried that keeping him this year is going to damage the program much further with a poor recruiting story (pretty hard to recruit when everyone knows you are a lame duck and/or crap the bed with the #1 recruit).
How bad is the roster going to look in 17-18? They always say a coach should try to leave a program in better shape than when he inherited it.
Assuming Blakeney leaves either this year or after next year, a reasonable argument can be made that the roster Johnny will leave the new coach in 17-18 will not be much better than the one he inherited.
At least the one he inherited had an NBA player (JOB) on it.
