Wasnt his offense. O gets worse every year under him at every freaking stop. The crazy sub packages were too much for the o to handle, resulted in delay of game penalties and substitution infractions out the arse.
The dude took the reigning Acc frosh of the year and turned him into a bench warmer. But its ok, he got to ran LSU's Offense at LSU and run his at MD. Where he got fired from.

So what was Crowton's excuse?
Crowton rarely recruited. Only guy i remember him ever visiting was Mett. and that was prob cus he was trying to save his Job.

So Kragthorpe and Stud were an upgrade minus the 2011 regular season
Yes, yes they were. JJ and Lee were both better qbs with crowton out the way. That was pretty fricking obvious.
WTF are you smoking?

Apparently not the same thing you're smoking. Lee and JJ were still young when Crowton left. They weren't the most talented QB's to work with. I don't think Bill Walsh himself could of developed them any better.

This is debatable. Not slamming on JJ but I don't think he improved much from '10 to '11 (obviously the suspension was a factor). Similarly, JL's improvement from '10 to '11 was marginal.
Crowton wasn't all bad but pretty much everything he could do for us (all things considered) was over after '08.

Crowton was dreadful, but he had a good QB in 2007, two in fact. Matt F. graduated and Ryan P. was banned.
2008-present LSU has struggled to find a decent QB and the offensive coaching has been, well, offensive. Crowton was bad, but when he left LSU showed no improvement. They had some offensive coaching issues, as many of you will recall. Perhaps things will change this year.
If LSU had a C- offense they would be in the National Championship game every year. Sadly, LSU offense has been in the bottom 100 in the NCAA for a long time.

He went from a backup QB with the record for most pick-6's to leading the SEC in pass eff. I think that's a helluva lot more than marginal improvement.
