The following week they beat a team no one gave them a chance to win. Last week LSU beats Florida on a missed extra point and no one thinks we will beat Auburn. It’s happening

I think the 7-6 Vandy game was the last we saw of Cecil Collins

Yup, one of the few games I remember not being on TV.

Yep, broke his leg. By the next year he was in jail or something like that... LF7 has been the only LSU running back that looked as good as Collins. Funny, I think that was the week before 1997 Florida game where everyone thought they would steamroll us.

Didn't he play a year at McNeese then a partial season with the Dolphins before going to jail?

I believe there were two delay of game penalties before the missed extra point. Probably the worst football game I’ve ever seen.

Two most memorable things about that game.

Episcopal High grad Jimmy Williams of Vandy getting the absolute vomit knocked out of him and Cecil's broken leg.

most overhyped player in lsu history.

he ran well against 3 scrubs and auburn.

i have never see a more hyped 596 yards and 3 tds in my life.

truth. he was pedestrian in the NFL and he had plenty of time healthy and not in legal trouble to show some of this once in a generation talent. never did.

he was very good maybe even great but definitely not the GOAT like he is hyped to be.

Faulk. Was. Better.
