Also, to correct someone who earlier said we lost 3/5 to Bama, it was 3-3. We won one in Tuscaloosa, one at the SECT and one in Omaha.

You are correct sir! That was my error - I forgot that LSU beat Bama once in the SEC tournament, even though LSU lost to Bama in the Championship game.

Damn I didn't know about them loosing there best player

It was actually worse than that that...they ended up losing their best player too.

Vaz was lucky he didn't have to get raped in Omaha like the rest of them.

Well, it was certainly unlucky for Bama to have Vaz get injured right before going to Omaha. And, it certainly is easy for internet tough guys to make statements like yours 18 years after the fact. Me? After the 28-2 asswhipping Bama had put on the Tigers in Tuscaloosa a few weeks earlier, I didn't care how or why LSU beat them at the '97 CWS. It was literally the only thing that could have taken the sting out of that loss.

I got over it the next day when we beat them to win the conference.

We had to come out of our region from the losers bracket. Patrick Coogan pitched his heart out on short rest as I recall. We got lucky to make it to Omaha then took control. The first game I think we got lucky as hell with Brandon Larson hitting a homer to win it for us against some stud reliever. Details anyone?

loosing there best player

Sometimes I feel loose, therefore I have nothing to lose.

Matt Anderson of Rice. RHP with a 95+ fastball, No.1 pick in the MLB draft that year. Larson crushed one of those fastballs for his homer.
