What gets us in a regional? 13 or do we have to get to 14 wins?

Likely 13 gets us in a regional which means we need to sweep Ole Miss. If we only get to 12 we would need to at least win 2 games in the SEC tourney but that is not a guarantee either.

We can't get to 14 regular season wins with 3 games left. 13 is the ceiling and that's still pretty iffy that we'd get in with that. The tournament games don't count there.

So 13 and we might get in, or we have to win the SEC tournament is my understanding.

Looking at the metrics and the SEC teams in front of LSU I don't think 13 will be enough

Getting in with 13 would mean you are sweating other conference tournaments around the country

Tulane just swept East Carolina so anything can happen when you get in these tourneys, some teams with bids clenched don't even care about the tourneys and would rather not tax their pitching before regionals

SEC tournament wins do count

They aren’t very important. They will have little impact on LSU’s resume unless LSU goes on a deep run to the weekend. And with LSU’s pitching staff that is unlikely.

13-17 LSU made the NCAA tournament in 2021 after going 0-1 in the SEC tournament.

Going 0-1 can be better than winning the first game then losing the next two to go 1-2 because you don’t want to add two loses to a resume that already has a lot of losses.

In 2006, 13-17 LSU beat the 1 seed in the first game but then lost the next two to go 1-2 and missed the NCAA tournament.
