I was watching some Olympic volleyball and I recalled a conversation with an elderly gentleman back in the 70s. He told me he invented 'power volleyball' IE, the transition from just getting stuff over the net to different rules that allowed slamming types of shots.

He was a retired prof at LSU back then. I'm sure he is now deceased. I tried doing internet searches with 'history of volleyball' but couldn't find him. I think his name was Emry or Emery...but when using the name it just came up with the college in Atlanta, Ga.

Has anyone who is familiar with LSU sports history ever heard of this guy? TIA.
