LSU has the #3 overall player in the Lone Star State and the #8 overall player in the state of Ohio committed and both happen to be OL. Why should I give a frick that the #70 offensive lineman in the country de-commtted?

The Tigers will be fine!

Because
1) LSU could lose up to six offensive lineman
2) LSU only has three offensive lineman committed to this point.
3) The dead period starts now

Our coaches like him a lot. I don't know if that really means anything though since our lines tend to underachieve.

Well, Alabama obviously wanted him.

Do their lines underachieve?

How is a 5-man line supposed to achieve against an 8-man box?

Bama took Womack not only because he's a good player, but mostly to frick LSU over. I swear it....

Not buying that.

I'll buy the timing of the switch. Like I said, it's a dead period and it puts LSU in a real bad spot. Womack has been an Alabama commit for a while, and they got him to hold off in making it public until now.

But I've heard Nick Saban say too many times, "Sometimes it's not about the guys you guys don't sign, but the guys you do sign."

What he means by that is, obviously 25x4 = 100, and you're only allowed 85 scholarship players.

You said it. Look at the timing. Every part of this whole situation is to screw LSU

Let's hope we can get at least one of Hawkins or Vadal to come back

Great points--much more disappointed in losing Tillery.

What about looking at other LA OL's like Dugas, Thomas, though he is a Texas commit and others.

Plus isn't LSU still in the hunt for some other out of state linemen?

He is much better than #70 in the country, and you would be singing his praises if he were still committed to LSU.

He's a 2016 OT from John Curtis. Last I heard BAMA was his favorite. But we can pitch him early playing time. Bama has 7754784 offensive linemen

completely agree with this. This was done strategically.

It also hurt us that he was an EE, signed paperwork, then pulled out and we couldn't visit anymore.

Bama also did this intentionally because the dead period starts. Now we sit and wait a month before talking to him. Sucks, but that is the death blow.

Yeah, it sucks, but recruiting is a dirty game. He and his family were not stand up individuals though.

I guess it depends on whether they were aware of what Alabama was doing and if they informed our staff weeks ago. Maybe they did. WHo knows.

I imagine he turns back into an EE within the next couple of weeks.

Actually, if little Nicky said it, he stole it from Gerry Dinardo because he said that 20 years ago. Maybe Dinardo didn't create this quote either, but I can promise it wasn't little Nicky's original saying.

yep, and I bet he had financial papers signed a while back that no one outside the Tide knew about.

First, few ran an 8 man box vs LSU this year. Second, let's just assume they did even though they didn't. How does that explain the lack of LSU OL in the pros relative to WRer, LBer, Corners, Safeties, Running Backs, and even QBs. Noooo, LSU needs to upgrade big time on the OL, and I believe Jeff Grimes is the one to do it. I have seen no one ever claim that Studrawa was one of the top 30 OL coaches in college football. If I had to guess, I would rank Studrawa at middle of the pack at best...maybe 60th best. Grimes judging by what he has done to recruit/develop OL is probably top 10.
