We can't focus on the kids that wanted to go somewhere else. LSU has a really good class this year considering.... Hopefully the product on the field this fall will only help us further.

Jimbo really gained some street cred with the way he handled Winston. As sad of a display as it was, those kids know that Jimbo has their backs.

This x 1000. While many of us thought it was chicken shite, players love it. Jimbo gon' ride til the wheels fall off.. He's popular, he's only a few years removed from a Natty and they have a great young QB and defense in a conference that's played for three-straight titles.

Obviously not everyone will see it this way, but as long as the prospects do Jimbo gives zero fricks.

Regardless, phenomenal job by O.

Both were OOS recruits and they chose the team they considered more stable. A great season next year will remove a lot of doubts and regenerate in state excutement for what O and his staff are doing at LSU. The ball should start rolling downhill from there - since 2012, seems as if LSU has been in an uphill battle. Winning the big games means everything now - stops the bleeding.

I agree that LSU can sell itself to enough OOS talent to stay competitive - we got some great recruits this year. And, the only thing that hurts our efforts longer term is the LA recruits who go with Saban will help recruit others in future years. That's why I don't wish those kids great success at Bama - they later become Saban's little elves in future recruiting battles.

Also losing 5 out of the top 10 in Louisiana looks bad on Orgeron's part which makes the case for Jimbo being the better recruiter even more.

Negative, negative, negative

Yet no mention of what LSU took from other States.

does FSU run a 4-3? I get the feeling that he was being told the LSU was going to stick him at NT and he believed them

This. He wants to be a star, and 3-4 D Linemen rarely are.

Jimbo is an amazing recruiter. He would dominate at LSU. Anybody who wanted Orgeron over Jimbo at LSU is absolutely nuts.

All I am saying is, for as great as Orgeron was made out to be as a recruiter, I think Jimbo wouldve done just as great here. And I dont think its debatable that he is a better X/O coach. However we couldnt get him so we got what we got and I am optimistic about the direction of the program.

We have a top 10 class no shite we took good talent from other states. You are taking this out of context because this is ultimately about Jimbo vs. Orgeron, not just what Orgeron has done. Jimbo took the top 2 OOS targets at the top of our board so what does that say about your statement.

But when SOOOOO much emphasis was put on keeping up a fence and then you lose 5 out of the top 10 you can't help but call that shite out. I see you also failed to quote the other part of my statement I guess because you have no argument for that one.

Enough with the fence thing. As I stated in a post yesterday about the 4 star who grey shirted to Bama, this younger generation is made up of mostly "followers" and not enough leaders. If these kids want to be sheep and flock out of state, then let them go. Patrick Queen said it best in his interview, "they never waivered on me, so I didn't waiver on them (LSU)." This is the type of guy we want the fence for.

You do realize that he dominated FSU to the #6 ranked class right? One spot in front of LSU and Orgeron and that was with us losing 5 out of the top 10 players in Louisiana

SPOT ON! And just for conversation if you subtract Wilson and add him to LSU, we move to #4.

CEO and staff did AOK for this cycle addressing team NEEDS, especially given all the variables that came into play, that WON'T in 2018.

Heisman trophy winner was accused of rape. Weeks later was in a student common area screaming f her in the p. Jimbo did nothing about it. Thats what a family does....cover each others back. Thats also why kids love saban.

Was Jimbo the one that took these kids out of La?

Orgeron hasn't had a full season as LSU HC and still finished Top 6. I'll reserve judgement on who's better when we have larger sample size.

I DO know doing it in the SEC is more of an accomplishment than the ACC.

Has nothing to do with the fact that Orgeron has no competition in state and lost these kids.
