F Noah Dickerson 6'8 245- FR Top 70 Recruit

F/5 Jernard Jerrau 6'10 240- JR NOLA Native, 3 Star

5 Georgias Papagiannis 7'1 235- Greece

Graduate Guard Trasnfer- Multiple been Mentioned

While I believe Dickerson would be the best fit for the long haul, I think J. Jerrau would give us the best chance to win next year, and would allow Ben to play more on the perimeter. I personally do not think Dickerson would be able to start Day 1, and if Victor cannot get cleared for fall, Jerrau would really fill a need. While yes I concede Dickerson would be better in year 3 and 4 than Jerrau will be, Ben Simmons is a once in a decade type talent, and I personally think the fit is better.

Papagiannis maybe the biggest wild card in the entire 2015 class. Has tremendous upside, but academic issues as well as some talk of benefits and his basketball career have come into question if I remember correctly. Could wind up with a Darcy Malone type where his game is just not condusive to the American style or an Enes Kanter type talent.

While some may not like adding another combo guard its not totally out of the question or a terrible idea IMO. I have complete faith in CJJ and staff, and believe adding a Charles Carmouche type would really help our team this year. I really liked the idea of getting a transfer to sit one year and redshirt. I personally think Aaron Epps makes huge strides this year and ER3 is able to play 10-15 minutes. I also though Bridge did a nice job and can help this team contrary to popular belief, his effort and intensity are contagious.

My choice Jerrau but would not be upset with anyone because with the versatility of Simmons, Blackeney, Quarterman, and Epps, the pieces can really come together.

To the UF poster that believes they will be better than last year......

1. Papagiannis (not likely)

2. Dickerson (possible)

3. Jarreau (very possible)

10. Another guard, that's the last thing this team needs. We need a big to add to this years roster.

You really have to commend CJJ on the program he has built thus far. Getting the top players in the state to stay at home or come back!

Implementing a system that focuses on using players strengths, regardless of position. It is an NBA type offensive philosophy, and while it is not nearly as complex, he is a very good and underrated strategist, most of the people that complain are football fans that show up just to complain. I personally love a matchup style of basketball, rather than a strict offensive base set every time down. He has the program right where it needs to be, you now have a mix of older players that have experience and younger guys behind them that can learn and when their time comes step in an contribute. Every single player has gotten better after their first year with Coach Jones. While I think Dickerson is a good player and would love to have him, I think Jarreu brings more versatility. Robinson will be and is better than Dickerson right now.

Primary Ball Handler: Gray (SR) 6'1
Wing: Blackeney (FR) 6'4
Wing: Hornsby (SR) 6'4
Forward: Simmons (FR) 6'10
Block to Block: Robinson (SO) 7'1 (Victor if eligible (SO) 6'9)
6th Man: Quarterman (JR) 6'6
F: Robinson or Victor
Wing/F: Epps (SO) 6'9
Wing: Sampson (FR) 6'4
Point/Wing: Patterson (SO) 6'0
Reserves: Malone (JR) 7'0, Bridgewater (SO) 6'5

But you see the foundation is there, and yes while a big is maybe a bigger need as it stands, having one more experienced ball-handler that can also knock down open shots and bring leadership would be tremendous.

A lot to be excited for, with the exception of Gray, Robinson, and Malone, everyone else can compete and be effective against multiple types of players.

One thing that I see is with Epps being back healthy, we will be much better against zone defenses from a spacing perspective.
(Against 2-3)
Top: Quarterman
Wing: Hornsby
Wing: Blackeney
Short Corner: Simmons
Rover: Epps
5 guys that can knock down open shots and can all run the floor, which is the key to being effective against any zone. If you can speed up the tempo and get the zone moving and never have time to set, it becomes very problematic.

Also something Simmons HS coach did was place Ben at the top in matchup zone type sets. Having long armed guys like Quarterman and Blakeney that also have incredible timing and hustle would be very hard for opposing offenses. Have Victor and either Malone or Epps, going corner to corner with their length.

With Simmons any coach would salivating to have because there is not a single matchup he does not have a clear advantage in, on atleast one side of the court.

Id take Pappa or Dickerson. Noah is incredibly adept at scoring with his back to the basket. Hed be our most developed post up player the day he steps on campus. He's a lot like JOB in that both can hit the hook shot over either shoulder and possess a nasty post spin move. Dickerson also has incredibly quick feet for a man his size. He's ridiculously agile and takes full advantage of it.

1.) probably would take Noah being he's played with Ben and is more of a true post player from the little I've seen. We don't need another 6'8+ guy standing on the wing when Ben can play that role.
2.) Papa don't know much, but probably highest upside
3.) Jerrau, good experience, and his cousin looks like a big time prospect, but looks really thin. We need defense and rebounds down low and he seems kind of thin.

This is a point that I feel is very important. Not just that they've played together, but if we can make Montverde Academy a feeder school, we will competing for SEC Championships every year.

If we can get 3 guys in 2 years from there and continue to make good relationships with players and coaches there, we could see a ton of talent coming our way.

I like Noah, Jerreau, and Papa

Noah helps with Monteverde, Jerreau helps instate, and Papa is a beast.

I think it is Papa or Dickerson. If I had a choice, I'd pick Papa just because he brings a little something different to the table with his size, but I think the players are comparable in terms of their ability.

pretty much. IMO he waits until he meets the new UF coach, and will make a decision from there.

I did see that he told a 247 florida mod that if Donovan left he would have to re-evaluate his situation...

He could still stay at Florida. He could move on. If he moved on, LSU would probably be the perfect fit for him.

I don't see why he would, though. Based on everything I could gather, he made his decision to flip from Georgetown to Florida purely due to Donovan and his chances of getting considerable playing time on contender team. All of that is out of the window now.

It is but it's a safe bet knowing he went from Georgetown to Florida because of Donovan and really wanted to play for Donovan. When he did decommit from Georgetown, we were right there in the race for him due to Simmons so it would seem like a safe bet it would be between us and Georgetown.

edit: just reiterating what Patrick said after now seeing his post

Dickerson is another guy that really isn't interested in college(from a couple of interviews I saw) except from the standpoint of honing his game for the NBA. Is he good enough to go one and done? If so I vote no. We need some stability in the program.

I watched clips of Simmons for 30 minutes yesterday and just sat there in awe and excitement that he was actually coming here. Then I realized he was only going to be here for one short season and I wanted to cry.

I think the NBA using us for a rookie league is really hurting college basketball. I say let them go pro out of high school or make them stay three years like football.
