Unless I’m missing someone, I feel like Spencer Ware was the last guy from up north that panned out.

Can argue the merits of who is "good" but multi-year starters here from high school we recruited right now on team:

Greg Penn, from MD
Garrett Dellinger, from MI

Charles Turner is from Ohio and Anthony Bradford is also from MI like Dellinger

Tennessee is not northern. Doesn’t matter where some highway is located.
