Granted, I've only watched highlights, but I'll throw out a lefty Tyrod Taylor.

You can still compare him the Tyrod Taylor... But Tyrod is a righty.

Do you even know how good of a college QB he was? LSU has never had one put up the numbers he put up at Indiana.

yes, im familiar with him. He was a great athlete but a terrible passer. Good runner.

he won 16 games in 4 years.

Bama and FSU run pro systems just like Lsu. They have been better off at qb and done better at adapting to the qb abilities. We had a tru sophmore b2b years starting in the toughest division in football. When Lsu has had solid veteren qbs we've had success. Qb personell has been the problem. I'm not giving up on Cameron and this offense untill I can see what harris does now that he's not so green. I believe we will be pleasantly surprised this year.

Arm of Joe Montana, Steve Young, Dan Marino, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Tom Brady and legs of Michael Vick, Fran Tarkenton, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel all combined into one player = Lowell Narcisse

I wonder what he would have done at somewhere other than Indiana or in today's spread offenses.

Never going to complain about adding a talent like this to the roster, but I'm not in love with the fit for what Les and LSU traditionally want to do with the offense. I've always thought we've looked our best with guys like Mett, Russell, Lee, etc running the show. Guess we'll see

I'm with you. It's great that they are adding talent, but why should anyone think he will perform better than some of the other QBs in the past? Narcisse is really not any more highly touted than Jefferson, Jennings, Harris, yet they've all been blamed for LSU's struggles in the passing game over the years. I find it hard to believe that ALL three guys were simply just "misses" on the recruiting trail. It's clear that LSU wants to run more of a pro-style attack, but they just keep signing guys who don't seem suited to do so. Jefferson, Jennings and Harris all seemed to be uncomfortable being forced sit in the pocket and go through a read progression rather than executing quick timing routes with relatively easy reads that we see in many "spread" attacks. It seems like Narcisse is that same kind of player.

Teams that run more of a "pro-style" offense seem to have generally recruited and played the type of QB that was better suited for that style (FSU, UGA, USC, Mich. St., Alabama all come to mind). LSU seems to do the opposite.

Like every other QB LSU has recruited, I want Narcisse to do well. However, in order to do that I think Les has to be willing to run an offense that compliments the kid's talents.

Thats not overly impressive for a 4 years starter.

49% completion percentage = terrible

42:37 TD INT ratio= Sub par

Herb tyler for instance completed 60% of his passes, 40:24 TD:INT. 23 rushing TDs

and he was only a 3 year starter

both of those guys were shitty passers

I never said either one were elite passers? And neither is Narcisse.

If he's truly going to develop into a quarterback - and not an athlete playing under center - he's going to have to put in a lot of work. His passing game needs a lot of improvement. Lots of good tools to work with there though

this is a fair assessment

watching 5 minutes of highlights with only one pass is a bit of a concern

Lowell is going to do great things here at LSU and I think he's a unique special talent.

one of my favorite prospects in this 16 class.

Funny how when we don't have kids people want them but when we have them, people waver. It's a great commit coming from a kid that is willing to play for the ULSU and not an out of state rival.

He doesn't seem to have close the arm talent of any of those guys.

I compare him to Tommie Frazier -- except he can throw

His brothers compare him to Michael Vick

Not so sure about that. He's won the "Golden Arm"/"Strongest Arm" award at pretty much every camp/competition he's been in

he has good arm strength. What you see on tape is mainly a function of the offense. They roll him to his right a lot for some reason, and on top of that they dont run many routes that let him show off his arm. He throws a lot of lob and jump balls.

but i watched some videos the other day when he committed, and on occasion you can see him throw with a lot of zip, esp on plays when he rolls left.
