NCAA all purpose yards record which is quite an achievement for a 2 star receiver from our backyard.

It is quite an achievement for a pretty well thought of prospect.

Scout typically undervalues Louisiana guys because their resources are not strong here.

Rivals had him as a 4 star. ESPN graded him at a 73 (which was 1 point behind Tim Molton and Jhyryn Taylor)... basically a three star grade.

According to his offer list, he didn't have an offer from a single school in a AQ conference... so it's not like LSU was the one school that passed on him.

He's a good fit for where he wound up, and he's had a nice career.

LSU did not check him out. They checked out Molton, Nelson and Jefferson and there was no serious consideration to ever offer him a scholarship.

Furthermore, DJ was a receiver, in fact the all time receiver at Destrehan.

So why don't you check your facts before you try to refute somebody Monk?

If Shep played at Tulsa, he'd already have the NCAA record for total yards.

Well Shep would have to learn how to catch first.

It's not like top 30 WRs don't commit to mid-major teams that don't flame out. It's just a dumb argument to say that any good athlete would do well at Tulsa.

But it's a good one to say Damaris would have rocked the world at LSU?

It was a fun fact and I am sure that more than half of the people on the board wouldn't have guessed it. But the point is you bring nothing to this post. So why post? Oh yeah, because you are a douche.

What the frick is the point of your post to bring up old shite on a recruit LSU didn't recruit several years ago that did well at a mid major school.....possibly to cast LSU in a bad light becuase of this....and why in the hell would YOU post this???? Oh yeah, because YOU are a DOUCHE.

Prominentwon is a turd,..
I like the post,....kid is legit, its a shame but the truth is he might not have played much at LSU even though he has tons of talent.
Makes you wonder how many really talented guys never get a chance for one reason or another.

I never said DJ would rock at LSU, but based on his track record, he sure as hell could compete at the SEC level.
Just look at Marques Colston and Jahri, are you saying just because they went to a small school, they can't compete at LSU? Same Logic.

No, not at all.

I'm just saying he wouldn't likely be the same quality player he has been at Tulsa.

So is he ur son/cousin/brother or something? Who gives a shyt about a non LSU recruit from years ago? Nelson imho was better than that dude and he didn't even get a scholarship to LSU. Same with sentimore. You think LSU should have just signed the whole destrehan team? What a douchebag.....

I think Molton fell in love with a girl at La Tech and transferred for the loving.

link is La Tech roster. Tim Molton transferred for love. so to speak.

ok.

But at the time he was pretty universally viewed as non-SEC caliber. No other SEC team thought otherwise.

There are many kids that end up being better than expected. This was not a case where LSU clearly made a bad decision at the time.

You have no real point.

I hate when people that know nothing about recruiting post on the recruiting board something pointless. Good for the kid. He was not a 2 star. Scout is horrible. Don't try to make LSU look bad.
