Recruit 1
5' 11.5"
180 lb
4.5 40 time

Recruit 2
5' 11"
200 lb
4.47 40 time

Obviously there are more factors than size and speed when evaluating running backs, but would you think that recruit 1 would be able to play running back in the sec west?

I'm 6'1 240 and ran a 4.6 in high school. Should I be fullback?

Ill take BJ Emmons who transfered from Bama and is at Hutchinson CC this coming year.

Neither of the two guys you just put down compare.

There have been plenty of sec running backs with those measurables, what's your point?

Obviously.

I don't understand why people are so adamant that he can't play running back in the sec west. Recruit 1 is James Cook. I didn't hear anyone say he's too small to play running back in the sec.

He has an offer right? He could just commit. He could join the team....he has an offer right?

Well if he really wanted to go to LSU, he would've committed. He doesn't. Time to move on

I could care less about Bolden, honestly. I'm just wondering why people say he's too small to be a running back in the sec.

Bolden isn't a running back bro. He is a receiver. I've watched him since he was a freshman. He doesn't run ANYTHING like a running back whatsoever. He isn't a bruiser who breaks big tackles against elite competition and then burns the secondary for td's. He is shifty, quick footed, and looks for the cutback. He never lowers his pad level. He doesn't take hits very well at the line at all.

But, in the open field he is the most electric athlete I saw last year by far in Louisiana. Put him out wide and he couldn't be defended. That is why he wants to play for TCU or Bama from what the radio heads said yesterday based on SOLID sauces. He said LSU wanted him at Running Back, but he wanted to play receiver. Which is smart for his future.

Let it die brother.

OH, and I am in no way bashing the young man. He knows he isn't a running back and is ok with that. His game is outside and could even play defensive back easily at the next level. No need to start useless threads.

Didn't intend to start a useless thread. This is the exact explanation I was looking for.

I didn't know where the narrative that he was too small to play running back came from. I was looking at the top running back prospects and noticed that cooks was significantly lighter than Bolden, and I never heard anyone say he was too small.

Like I said, I could really care less about Bolden. I'm from South Louisiana and live in Tennessee now. I have no agenda here.

Thanks for the explanation.

I don't believe a reported 40 time tills the combine.

Whichever one commits to LSU is the correct answer

I think Bolden can play RB in the SEC. I also said Cook needs at least 20lbs before touching the field.

Look, it is what it is. I wanted Bolden too and maybe it'll still work out in the end.

Haha. I could NOT care any less about that particular recruit. I just perceived a double standard and wondered why that existed.

Well, then don't post in it so it can slip into the abyss.

I thought reo45's explanation had some value, though.

+1000 The folks that's keeping this shite going are either related to him or doing it because he's a white wide receiver. LSU offered him scholarship. He is the one not committing.
