The most important recruit in LSU football modern day history?

A kid like LF doesn't come around very often. He's the real deal and has the potential to become legendary on both levels and seeing as how he's in our own backyard, it's imperative that we get him.

I just hope for the kid we can put together on O line and offense so he is a Heisman winner

Someone like... Cameron Robinson, perhaps?

I would say the biggest of all time.

keeping him from Bama is bigger than us landing him all together, imo.

RB's really are a dime a dozen. Less than 10 yrs ago we had Keiland Williams come in, same kind of player

LF is the biggest/most important since Faulk is what I meant, just to be clear.

Yep. Faulk was the recruit that started erecting the fence around the state. He was important on so many levels. He made it cool to come to LSU.

As always RB's matter less than Lineman and QB's and depending on the team (not ours) even WR's.

People don't realize that the ceiling for a RB can only be so high.

I love LF and he is a beast but i dont think he is on another plante than some of the guys we've gotten recently.

Hilliard set records
Keiland Williams was a 5 star beast, same type of measurables
Charles Scott was the LA Gatorade POY
Justin Vincent 5 star
Alley Broussard high 4 star
Specner Ware 5 star

Ive said this before and for some reason people can't grasp it, but because he's been on the scene for 4 years, his hype is ridiculous. Yes, he is THAT good. But these other guys were studs too.

AGAIN im not saying he is overrated. He's the best RB in the nation more than likely. But to act like he is head and shoulders better is silly. How does he separate from the other gyys? They are all big physical beasts. Fast. 2,000 yard 30 TD rushers. ETc etc

No, man, not a running back. Remember that without him we'd still have good RBs.

I respect your opinion LE, but I'm not so sure LF's talent doesn't transcend those other guys. All those guys were no doubt great talents but each had a weakness. KW had LF's physical make-up wjtb size/speed but had an aversion to running north-south, Charles Scott lacked breakaway speed, Broussard was a beast but didn't have great hands, Ware lacks vision, JV found white women and Bogie's .

I'll grant you that I judge the aforementioned guys in hindsight with their college careers behind them, and Fournette's has yet to come...but right now, nobody sees a chink in the armor. And he's been prodded, evaluated, and measured up under 1000X the magnifying glass as those you mentioned. No weaknesses. And he is a quality kid and leader, just for good measure.

you also can't underestimate the importance of getting NOLA's most hyped/respected prospect in...well, maybe ever. LF is the toast of the town. Him coming to LSU and showing out means everything. NOLA is a small town at heart, and LF is a leader...kids will follow, just like LF will follow Tyrann before him.

McKnight wasn't an LSU recruit though

LF could end up edging out Patrick Peterson as the most important recruit of the Les Miles era though.

As far as the "hoopla" goes, it's about even.

PP7 is a good example.

I also think some players ARE different. Game changers.

They are NOT a dime a dozen. Percy Harvin, Noel divine, Trent Richardson, Reggie bush, etc.

These guys are a CUT above Scott, Williams, ware etc.

LF will almost certainly be better then hill and I would take hill over the aforementioned LSU running backs.

That makes LF pretty fricking important.

#1 in the class. Easily.
