I really have tons of respect and admiration for Beckwith. I thought that getting this stud LB in our backyard and keeping him away from the evil midget was going to be the turning point.
However I'm not so sure anymore with Saban poaching Allen and Moses from BATON ROUGE. This is a huge position of need and it's scary that we couldn't keep these guys home.

Change of scenery? You obviously haven't been to Tuscaloosa. What a shithole.

while I don't disagree about Tuscaloosa being a dump, lets not pretend Baton Rouge is some rolling metropolis that people flock to for its breathtaking scenery

If that was what these kids were looking for, they'd all be going to Texas. Okay, maybe not breathtaking in Austin, but you get the point. Something else going on, IYAM.

There's still a ton of people in this state who revere Saban and bad mouth Miles (and now Orgeron) every chance they get. If a kid hears that LSU's coach is an imbecile for half of their life growing up, it's no wonder they don't want to play for him.

You don't go to Tuscaloosa for a change of scenery... that was young (ucla) and tillery (ND).

It's just hard for kids not to get starry eyed at a bama offer no matter where you are these days. 8 straight #1 classes and 4 of the last 7 NCs. That bama offer is a huge ego boost. Has nothing to do with wanting to get away IMO.

If they would all come here under the new regime they could be apart of something extremely special though.

But they just see what's going on atm..

It sucks when it's truly a position of need and they could contribute mightily.

They live so close to these obnoxious LSU fans that dog all former Tigers not named Jarvis Landry. Huge turnoff being so close to the good and the bad. It Makes the bad appear worse. They begin to grow resentment toward the fanbase that shows no true love for them. All they get is this aggressive obligation to go to LSU. Makes them root for LSUs natural rival-BAMA. When a recruit says it down to LSU or Bama, that's just too unatural to root for the two simultaneously. Moses probably got drowned with all the negativity of LSUs fans and couldn't wait to get away.

If I'm a top recruit from BR that always loved LSU but chose to go to a different school for a change of scenery, I definitely would not pick to live in a shithole like Tuscaloosa, AL.

I'd be looking at a school out west or in the state of Texas or Clemson or a school in FL that's not UF.

Although one day you could always look back and say you played for the greatest college coach ever, won a championship and was a part of the dynasty. It goes both ways I guess.

Alabama has stability and consistency. We haven't had that plus we have to get out of the hole Les Miles left us in. It sucks but we have to stay patient Tiger Fans. Rome wasn't built in a day. We'll be just fine

Alabama comes in and flashes the cash....ask Landon Collins' girlfriend and momma. Ask the Lacy's in Dutchtown. Ask Trent Richardson's mom about the sweet rent she got when she moved to T-town as she was transferred to the Popeyes there

Anyone who thinks that Bama and LSU don't throw the money around are deluding themselves.

Calling Tuscaloosa a shithole is being grossly unfair to outhouses and real shitholes like Gainesville

You know what changes the negativity a fricken trip to the playoff! its been a while. LSU better get back soon or we are heading downhill like tenn.,texas etc...top recruits want to play for the teams that have been good while they were close to high school age. All about the now with these kids. Guess when the last time LSU was good? yeap be 4 years pretty soon.

I have to call you out on this terrible analogy. Popeyes is significantly better than KFC and stands on its own. They probably eat a lot of KFC in Bama though...
