I always go back to Russell Shepard, and wonder what if he goes to Oregon instead.
I was NOT a Crowton OC fan or a Studrawa OC fan but that wasn't the issue with RS. There was a reason that LSU was the ONLY program to even offer him a QB shot. Go back to the UnderArmour QB skills test footage. Hell, I could have finished ahead of that guy...he finished dead last. And when you have body that emulates a twig and you never get stronger or bigger, you have a grand total of one asset...speed. There aren't a lot of guys who can succeed like that. Shepard didn't have that much shiftiness and certainly didn't have a little power like say a Percy H at Florida. Shepard's problem was he wasn't qualified to be a QB and didn't have enough overall skillset to be a WR (hands weren't that good, not a physical guy, and his route running almost seemed random at best).
You have to improve yourself to succeed...want to have the perfect example? Who thought that Richard Dickson looked like a college football player? I didn't but he became the best receiving TE in LSU history. I'm biased but unless someone was giving my girlfriend a job in the athletic department at their school, I would go to LSU. The atmosphere is rated #1 in the nation by just about every magazine, the coaches say it is the toughest place to play, ranks in the top 5 or so nationally each year in attendance, have great coaches, a great field (natural turf) to play on to reduce injuries, and win about as many games as anyone. Plus, if you like to hunt, fish, etc, you are close to those things.
