What happened to Layton Garnett?

I know he was a preferred walk-on but he isn't showing up on LSU's roster. Did he sign somewhere else?

Probably not starting school until the summer.

If he didn't sign an LOI they probably can't list him on the roster until he's enrolled.

Yea I think all of the walk ons there now we're in school last semester and are enrolled this semester.

I don't think he can associate with the team until he actually starts classes. This is one of the things that gets overlooked as a difference between a walk on and a scholarship player. Everyone keeps saying "Ben Miles needs to be a walk on, Les can afford it" but there are other differences. They cannot report or practice at the same time, and their access to the facilities is limited also. It is a bigger difference than most realize.
