What happen to the recruitment of Thomas MacVittie?

Did the ship sail on MacViitie's (Archbishop Moeller, H.S., Cincinnati, Ohio) recruitment prior to the staff visiting Russo and Haskins?
The kid is big, strong and tough, aside from being a Pro-Style, QB.
I thought the Tigers showed some interest in him.

He just visited Pitt this weekend and they pretty much have him locked in now
