Doesn't look like a world class sprinter (burner) but has great quickness and can really cover the first 5-10 yards quickly. Above average speed, elite first step guy IMO. Seems to have great instincts on offense, don't know how you keep him from some offensive touches.

I'd hate to see what you consider elite speed.

He has above average speed, no doubt. His quickness is elite.

He runs a 10.4 100 meter. He has freaking elite track speed, let alone football speed.

Watching his film, this looks like a good comparison, though DJ appears to be slightly quicker at this stage.

He's fast enough. His quickness is what's so impressive.

How many football players have elite track speed?

Even better, how many skilled football players have elite track speed?

I think you're taking this wrong. I'm more impressed with his quickness than top speed. It doesn't mean I think he's average or less, just means his quickness stands out to me.

Oh. I know you aren't dissing the kid. I'm just keeping this in football perspective here.

Oh hell no. You can tell more about his football speed when you put him up vs SEC caliber athletes but I already can see his quickness, cutting ability and vision will be a step above almost everyone. He's definitely a phenomenal athlete. I don't know how he can be kept away from some offensive touches and should be a return guy from day one.

He pretty tight running a 4.49 at 6ft 4 inches all state in track and a two year starter at cornerback. BTW a 2015 Florida a&m commit!

If Fournette was as good of a KO returner as he is a RB, that would be one thing...he isn't. He broke 1 KO return the entire season...vs Notre Dame.

The fact is that he was 19th in the country in KO return average. At 230+lbs, that is ridiculous. Only 11 players scored more than one KO return. Only one player scored more than two. Neither one of them was a big arse running back who carried the ball nearly 200 times as well (pretty much WRs and DBs).

The numbers bare out that Fournette was an upper level KR.

Same goes for White at 14 in the country in KR avg. Tied for 13th in amount of returns and only 10 people scored more than once as a punt returner. Only 8 scored more than twice.

My son team had a guy like Donte that ran a 4.3 and seeing a person run that fast in person is so fricking unreal. Let me give youa comparison of how fast that is my son runs a 4.49 the other kid ran a 4.33 they raced a hundred yards one football practice he beat, my son by 15 yards!

So your son runs a fast 40 but a shitty 100......good to know!

With his size, can he be a shutdown corner?
