Is offering him a sign that we believe we will not get any of the more highly touted LB s still out there or do we know something about him that the other top 5 programs don't know?

We got a good in-state kid that's qualified and seems to be a high character guy at a position of need and WANTS to be a TIGER!!! What more could you ask for? I like it........filling the positions of need. Might even see a boost in his rankings now that he's on board and the scouts take another look? Just a thoguht.(ala Claiborne)
dietcoke: I think it's more a product of the second than the first. He's most likely an answer to Ferrell and doesn't indicate anything about the highly touted LBs we're chasing. I think he's a great get in our back yard that might be under the radar just a bit.

Don't try to read too much into this commitment in its relationship to other recruits.. Your thought process could be totally wrong.

I'm not even rationalizing when I tell you that it looks like this is a replacement for Ferrell according to people that matter.
We wanna have at least 4 LBs in this class. Minter, Barrow, Mingo, then Jones or Jenkins or Telfort (keeping in mind that Mingo could go DE and/or Telfort could go SS.)

He's taking Farrel's spot. Jones is still a possiblity in this class.

Supposedly hes taking Willie's spot but I don't buy it. I think its a indication Jones is going to Florida with Bostic, which leaves the door open for Telfort, which is also looking like a Florida lean. I don't see how they can get 3 high profile LBs, all with LSU heavy on their trail. Especially with Florida's depth. Guaranteed to play here your first year. Only reason Baker hasn't seen PT on defense is because he hasn't diagnosed the playbook and his size but hes been a monster on ST.
