“LSU is just a strong program,” Joiner told SEC Country. “I’m just waiting to see about my height and I may commit this summer — not necessarily to that school, but any school I’m comfortable with — or at the Army Bowl. If I stay 6-foot-3 until like October or November, then it’s going to be LSU.”

I'm confused. Why does his height matter?

I guess he thinks its too tall for RB, or the coaches told him that, but he's probably right...

Alfred Blue was a legit 6'2 pushing 6'3 and so was Jeremy Hill

He's already too tall to play RB, that's why most offered him as an athlete. I'm pretty sure he measured in at 6'4 at a camp this year too

Derrick Henry is 6'3"

Jalen Hurd is 6'4"

They are definitely not the norm, but it can be done. Still, I agree a move to WR if he gets taller is probably best. Nothing like have a WR with RB moves in open space (see Josh Reed).

Said if he gets any taller he would switch to WR and LSU is not a school he wanted to go to and play WR.

The harsh realities of having Miles and Cameron never develop QBs and WRs.

Can't blame him until we show an offense that uses the WR well.

Link to the article by Sam Spiegelman who again has been killing it with the recruiting coverage.

Here is my take on this kid without seeing him in person. Despite his size, he's not a banger. His film shows very little of him running over or through people but a lot of him hitting a hole very quickly and making a cut and getting long gains. He doesn't seem to have elite speed and he isn't really a hammer who breaks tackles. He's kind of in the middle. What I really like about him is he doesn't waste a lot of motion, he commits early and picks up yards quickly and has enough speed to take it outside once he gets to the hole. But he's just not a guy that's going to plow you over like you might think when you see his size.

Can we transfer about 3 of his inches to Lindsey Scott?

His HUDL: LINK

He plays nothing like Dickerson or Jacobs though. He reminds me in terms of size and style to Chris Brown, former Colorado Buffalo and Tennessee Titan. Chris was 6'3 225-235 and had a very similar running style, a bit too upright, a solid strider, avoiding contact if he could, always fell forward, quick to the hole, able to break long runs. Funny thing about Chris Brown was he transferred from Northwestern to Colorado because they wanted to make him an HBack/Tight end because he was "too tall". And then he became a Heisman candidate at CU and destroyed undefeated Nebraska . If I had to make an LSU comparison I'd say I see some similarities to Alfred Blue.

Jeremy Hill was 6'1" at the combine. Blue was 6'2".

Have to say never seen a recruit talk about his height determining which school he wants to attend.

So LSU done held other running backs back from committing? Kind of crazy if you ask me!
