Woods never lived up to the hype. This should be a lesson to the stargazers out there.

woods had a lot of physical talent to be really good in a different system where he received coaching

3/4 years without being coached, in a system that doesn't fit him = bust

al woods would have been better off at a UT or UM

How was he coached, and how should he have been coached? Please be specific since you know so much.

he wasn't. 'Rip van Winkle' Lane would rather sleep during film sessions than help teach his linemen.

anything would be better than what he got

our DL don't know how to use their hands anymore. they just bull rush or stand up and try to swat balls

woods needed to be in a 2-gap system and play around 350

it's no use arguing with this toolbag. He will eventually accuse you of not knowing anything about football because you played the "piccalo" in the band regardless of whether or not you actually were in the band, and also regardless of the fact that he can't spell piccolo.

i'd have taken it, but then again, I'd give $50 to practice with the team once (excluding sprints).

You guys constantly make comments about coaches like ya'll are at practice or played on the team.
SFP what players told you he didn't teach technique?

you claim coaches don't teach. typical response from a guy who probably never played.

no, I claimed that Earl Lane didn't teach, which is valid response from anyone who watched his D-Linemen play.

What is DL doing wrong technique wise? Haley coaches them now!

I thought he was being recruited for the OL, not real sure if he'll even get a look at DT.

You guys claim earl lane didn't teach. i have no argument with that but what was pelini doing. does he know anything about DL. Did he not "make" earl lane do anything. you guys act like lane was the HC and didn't report to anybody.

Lane was possibly the worst thing that happened to the DL. From the mouth of two older guys, cameron vaughn and leo desselle, Lane never taught the line anything. I have heard this on muliple occations by players still with the program. In meetings he would try and point fingers at other people and throw his own players under the bus to cover his @ss. There was an article printed at the beginning of the year claiming woods didn't play much last year, because he wasn't doing want his coach asked of him. Still can't figure out what that was. He NEVER taught technique. The older players were responsible for trying to help out the younger guys. Some players, like woods, needed to be taught. He is a great athlete, but cam from a very small school with limited coaching. I am personally happy that lane is no longer with the program!
