I see that as a good sign that LSU will land him, leave a good lasting impression before he makes his final decision.

can they actually sign a LOI before signing day?

They call it signing day for a reason. So no.

Starting next year there will be an early signing period, I believe December 13th.

While it probably will be approved, it hasn't been yet. If it is approved, it will sync up with the JUCOs who already have an early signing date.

We have a DE/TE in this class that can be a TE just as easy as a DE.

Isn't Amik like 5'9" 160 lbs? Isn't that kind of small these days?

Still growing and isnt expected to make an impact right away. Most likely will redshirt to bulk up. Donte Jackson is pretty small weight wise and he hangs in there.

My job allows me to meet most of the people in the athletic department including coaches. I have a pretty good relationship with a few of them including Canada and he said this is his guy.

Interesting if that plays out. That would mean somebody else on the want list won't be signing with the Tigers on Feb. 1.

Film looks pretty good. Good height and hands. Biggest negative is that he looks slow as molasses.

2017 TE- we have a pretty solid young group
F.Moreau, J. Waahington, J. Pettigrew, C. Roddy hell we can also move the walking on J. Williams at 6'3 221 over to TE pretty good athlete.
I know Canada offered but we have more pressing needs than another TE. Would rather the scholarship go on LB or if on the offensive side of the ball RB or WR.

You would take 3 running backs in this class (assuming we land etienne)?

I'm sure Canada wants a TE that fits in his offense. Not the blocking te's that miles recruited. I think Jeter would have been good in this offense I wish he had another year.

But wouldnt you want the types of players that actually match what were trying to do? Canada plans on being here a long time, we need players that fit his bill.

I would like a LB too but I was referring to this.

I get it the Coach may want his type of player, but watching film on the kid our current group F. Moreau, J. Washington, J. Pettigrew are better and they are not blocking TE. I believe Pettigrew will be the best of the group. Miles moved Roddy from defense to be the blocking TE. I feel we have more pressing needs than another TE.

From his film, I have seen he wouldn't even see the feild over the group we have unless he has a tremendous work ethic and the ability to gain speed and quickness.

A tight end is good to have in this class for depth 2 years from now bud, plain and simple. We aren't expecting him to see the field day 1, he has a few years of weight training but can potentially be a stud by junior year.
