UT folks are low key and really don't get riled up that much. They act like TAMU doesn't bother them but find a true UT fan and they HATE TAMU.

The vast majority of Texas fans are arrogant, condescending pole smokers. If you somehow find yourself in a reasonable discussion with a Texas fan regarding football, recruiting, schemes, coaching, etc., brace yourself because once you make a valid point, the conversation is about to take a turn to lame college town smack, grades/education, or Young/McCoy.

I remember them bragging about getting 4 star Bryson Echols and us getting his teammate Jalen Mills. Fast forward a year later and Mills is a freshman all american while Echols didn't even play.

Overall, it's probably as simple as a few idiots who think it's clever to spell L$U with a dollar sign.

If bama didn't have their own referees there is no telling how many championships we would have at LSU

bullshite. They called a solid game in Tuscaloosa 2011. Every game has missed calls. It's inevitable

I remember they used to say how much we paid recruits, even mentioning Larry Porter by name.

Then they hired Larry Porter.

Its which ones you miss that determine the outcome
and that sideline play did just that.

There should be absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that holding calls were being used by bama's "paid for" refs to influence games. They over used this a couple of seasons ago when their opponents had over 100 holding cals to their ten or so and absolutely nothing was done about it.

There is no better way to influence a game than holding calls since nearly every play can get flagged. It is obvious to the coaches when this happens but only the most knowledgeable of fans will truly pick up on it due to the difficulty of following so many individual battles all at once unless you have TIVO.

BTW, TIVO is great vor watching FB games as long as you don't answer your friend's calls during the game... and you can skip halftime!

Wow, talk about an off topic tangent.

Aggie perspective here. Dynamics in texas are different because there are multiple bcs programs. Your association with a university is not simply about what state you are from but has all kinds of socioeconomic, political, and family background implications. Bama arrogance is just about football. Longhorn arrogance is such that they think they are better than other people.

Longhorns don't really care about football. That is just a means to an end. The end is for everybody to acknowledge that they are, in deloss's own words, "the joneses."

Therefore, nobody in the sec- is their worthy peer. Only the michigan, tosu, notre dame, uscw types are worthy of comparison.

I remember very well the 80's and 90's when we controlled the state of texas. We won 10 of 11 and would go into austin and by the second half the stadium was 2/3 Aggies. They didn't really care and they were just as arrogant as ever. After all, we were still sheep humpers and all that.

What you call Aggie arrogance is really mostly the younger generation of Aggies that have never really experienced sustained succes and are beating their chests. They will get over it if we keep it up. There is also a segment of Aggies who feel like they need to kick up the hatred with lsu to prove we don't care about the longhorns. I am optimistic we will outgrow that pretty soon too.

Started with Perriloux, then it really escalated with Russel Sheppard. They were convinced we paid him to get him to leave the state and it had nothing to do with his gf already being at LSU.

It's not as bad as it used to be but I used to read Orangebloods back in the day when rivals was worth a shite and when LSU was really becoming a national force and a lot of Texas fans would lash out in the same way you lash out based on fear of your supremacy waning from a neighboring threat. To be honest with you, Texas might as well be on another planet as far as football goes at this point. With their conference situation, they've been relegated to a team that you watch play once a year and then move on with your life and more interesting football games.
