Sunday’s Update: Heard was the 5th ranked player based on today’s practice. So excited for the OL in the future. Between Campbell, Emery, Heard, Chester I think we’ll be loaded on the OL for years to come.

Zalance Heard may have been the most college-ready looking prospect among the offensive linemen on Friday. The LSU signee has tremendous arm length and carries his weight well. Heard showed off his light feet and knee bend during the individual period of practice. He later flashed tenacity and brute strength at the point of attack during the team period. We’ll see more in upcoming practices, but Heard appears to have made some technical progress with his technique as a run and pass blocker. A five-star prospect for On3, Heard ranks as the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2023 On300.

5. OT Zalance Heard – LSU After a solid performance in Saturday’s session, Zalance Heard took his game to another level on Sunday afternoon. Heard lost his first rep during the 1-on-1 period and then pitched a shutout for the remainder of the day. His ability to strike defenders first and stay attached is the best we’ve seen at Under Armour. Heard has also shown the ability to beat defenders to the point and stay square throughout the rep. When he’s on time, you have a wall at the tackle position. Heard also shined during the team period burying multiple defenders and consistently finishing his opponents.

I think heard is somewhere on out OL next year.
Would love a Center jn the portal
Campbell, Jones (Someone better than Turner) Frazier Heard could be a super solid line.

I agree. Marlon Martinez should start at center, he looked great against UAB when he started that game. Didn't see any push up the middle from the defense at all. That was impressive.

Martinez is larger and more physical than Turner
Look for him to possibly be starting center next year

Frazier or Bradford

I wonder if Jones could play center, I know it’s a crazy thought, but he is our most athletic lineman and having him @ center would make our weakest link a strength instantly.
Either OG or center, I would love to see him pulling or blocking screens.

Heard keeps saying he’s going to play LT, wonder if they end up moving Will over to RT at some point

I’ve seen both play hundreds of reps. Lance ain’t playing LT over Will. He’s talking the same shite he did in high school and that’s that.
Did y’all forget Will made freshman All American?
