No. Look, I hate Bama, mostly because of their sore WINNER fans, but you have to give it to the program Saban has built. He runs it like a well oiled machine. High graduation rates, top round picks to the NFL every year, they spend the most on recruiting and that helps to yield #1 classes every year, and they don't just compete for championships, they win them at an insanely high clip. Have you SEEN their facilities, Oregon is possibly the only place that beats them out and I think it's more of a preference at this point between which is better between them and TAMU. Tons of new high school graduates try to get away from their family every year (at least until the holidays). They are like regular folks in this regard. Being by family matters to some, others it doesn't. Being that this is the recruiting board, I won't go further, but just think about what you say when we pull 5 star players from Florida and Texas.

Understood on the first part. LSU's facilities are no slouch either. They serve the basic purpose and then some. Yeah we don't have a water fountain LOL! But, our facilities are more than fine.

Second part is up to the individual. Its hard for a homer to grasp but it is true. But that is where the family and friends can get involve and pulls someone back home.

Yeah, how dare a top Louisiana recruit consider leaving the state. Hey top ______ recruit, come to LSU. If he goes to Bama, he goes. Find another.

I look forward to the day LSU top recruits don't even consider Bama.

I understand people want to look around, but as an LSU fan it's just sick that it's Bama.

If Notre Dame or Texas, heck even USC get good and they start looking there then I can at least stomach that.

If we can manage to get the class back that we had earlier this year (3 5 stars), we'll be killin it. But with Moses decomitting and considering other options, Shelvin playing the field, and Jacoby Stevens decommitting, this class is muuuuch weaker than it was.

It's so early. If Les can get 10 wins all is well.

I have tried to understand why recruits would want to leave Louisiana for that place and have come to realize it can only be for selfish reasons. Ultimately, by choosing them, they are conveying the message of not caring about the support of their friends and community. Not only now, but for the rest of their lives. They'll always be known as the people who shunned home to join the enemy. As big as football is at LSU, there is just no reason to leave, except to be spiteful. JMHO

Edit: I'm like you, I can stomach recruits going to a school out of conference, but not the asshats.

Yeah, that was my point. Some guys want to be around family, others could take it or leave it. Hell, LSU took one of its best players of all time in Patrick Peterson, away from Miami (decommitted) and the state of Florida as a whole, and I'm sure LSU fans went crazy for that (way before I started following recruiting).

I mean do people realize where Jamal Adams is from? Or how about Arden Key?

Really? Do you feel that way about Jamal Adams? Patrick Peterson? Any other OOS recruit? Stop being a bitch.

For every kid who leaves Louisiana for college, we pull in an OOS kid that can play. Hootie Jones for Jamal Adams comes to mind.

To be fair, calling a kid selfish for not going to LSU is a dumbass thing to say.

Although you said Louisiana, I doubt you are wondering why a kid would choose Bama instead of LaTech or Tulane.

Tyler- will be on campus Friday and Saturday for official visit! Coach Miles, A and O need to show him a lot of love and insight to all the good things that are going to be happening in the next 3-4 years at LSU which will allow him to further his development as a man and a footballer player... setting the groundwork to a future successful NFL career ....TYLER we LOVE YOU MAN!

I said "that place". No where did I mention the 100+ other colleges a young man could choose. A top athelete from our state leaving to go to that four letter explicitive word school IS a slap in the face. Go back and read it again.

I always like the posts like this.

As if LSU is the only school in the country competing against Alabama. As if LSU is the only school that can't knock them off right now.

That 21-0 garbage is so damn old. 5 years and you pussies still harp on it as if it's the MAIN thing these kids look at. The kids being recruited now we're in 6th and 7th grade when that happened.

It's about the complete package at Alabama. Not 1 game 5 years ago.

Bunch of scorned arse women.

Hell I don't like LA kids going to Bama, but since 08 they have been successful and they are going to be the school everyone wants to go to. Texas in the 2000 along with Miami and Ohio State. Notre Dame in the 80's, etc. Things work in cycles. Bama was shitty for all of about a season or two from 93-2006.

This is the part I don't understand.. Because a kid goes to a school you don't like he has personally insulted you? That is crazy.. These kids owe us fans nothing.. They need to go where they feel they need to go.. I bet you don't mind all the Texas and Florida kids being "selfish" when they come to LSU.

It's not about other schools or states. My comments reflect my feelings for one particular school. What's not to understand?
