I think we are just being honest and don't want to promise him something we can't assure him. Also, want to make site we can get following:

2014
Fournette
Palelei

2015
Brossette
Guice

Fournette was in that Bama lockerroom for all the LSU hype and in it after they kicked our arse. don't count him too quick. I wouldn't write Darrel off. He's better than the EA or Catholic kid.

My son is one of the best linemen(offensive or defensive) in his schools district. He's only 11 yrs old and naturally as a dad I have dreams of him playing college ball. If LSU offered him a scholarship when he graduates high school I would probably break down and cry. I damn sure would not be on twitter giving them ultimatums.

So many of these kids feel like they are owed something and don't stop and appreciate what they have been offered.

Have to look at the big picture. If LSU was the only offer I'm sure DW would change for the scholarship but this kid has over 20 offers and every other SEC school wants him at running back. I have been through recruiting twice, it's crazy but why change for LSU when 25 other schools want you at what you do?

That's not what I am saying. Just shut your mouth say thank you for the offer and find a school you fit in with. I got no problem with him finding the best situation for him to be in. Why throw LSU under the bus for no reason.

I find it hard to believe that wilson offered him a scholie w/o having this discussion with darrel, his father or his coach.

What the frick did I just read??

First you say

quote:

the kid is not that good of an RB

Then you say

quote:

he breaks a lot of tackles

What in the fricking frick man? All you need a RB to do is BREAK TACKLES... This ain't NCAA 2014 where your RB needs 95 speed to be worth a shite

There's only three things I can figure about this situation that make any sense.

1) Kenny Hilliard is coming back for his senior season.
2) Jeryl Brazil will be back on the team.
3) Alfred Blue is getting a medical redshirt for the 2012-13 season.

I just don't see us going into 2014 with three scholarship backs (Magee, Fournette, Palelei) on the roster, especially with one coming off injury.

And honestly, if it's not #1, I'm not gonna be happy with not offering Williams. Brazil needs to be gone IMO and I'd rather have Williams than Blue. If Hilliard's back then ok, fine, but Williams looks real good and I would hate for him to walk to keep Brazil or Blue on the roster.

I'm glad we're being straight with Williams and his family on this.

Don't think we offered this kid without knowing his feelings on playing position. Hope he'll be apart of this class

Obviously, you're much wiser than Frank Wilson and Cam Cameron, who made these decisions.
Why aren't you offering him a scholarship where you're on staff?

They have such a solid track record of building NFL RB's this should carry a lot more water than where a recruits dad wants him to play, imo.

Really? Other than Ridley, who you got that is anything more than a STs player it practice squad?

Missing out on him could be a mistake. He can only improve. I assume this is all just because of LF. IMO, we could use him.

Obviously they don't get them all right. Lot of kids with scholarships don't hit the field. CHS kid got stuffed by Mandeville, had about 50 yds. Williams plays them Friday we'll see how he does.
And no smart a$$ I'm not on staff. These are opinions. Nobody on here really knows shite but it's entertaining.

I know before his Injury Sione was in the running for MVP of the state along with Fournette, Harris, and Quinn.
