“The only visit we have is to Alabama,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “We don’t have any other visits. We are still 100 percent locked in with Alabama.”

Tagovailoa will not change his commitment even if Kiffin decides to leave Alabama. While the family has developed a relationship with Kiffin, Nick Saban is who they communicate with more than the Alabama offensive coordinator.

quote:

“Lane Kiffin is an awesome and smart guy,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “We have much respect for that guy. But at the same time, we have built strong relationships with (outside linebackers coach) Tosh Lupoi and Nick Saban. Those are the two guys we’ve built a huge relationship with — not so much Lane. If Lane decides to move on with his career somewhere else, we wish him the best. We support him with whatever he’s going to do.”

quote:

In addition to speaking with Saban, the Tagovailoas also called LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan’s family. A day after Tagovailoa picked up his LSU offer, Brennan took to Twitter to say that he was looking for other options just in case it didn’t work out with the Tigers. Ed Orgeron stated in his introductory press conference that he wants LSU to have a dual-threat quarterback under center, and Brennan isn’t that. He’s a pro-style prospect.

The Tagovailoas are family friends with the Brennans, and they just wanted to let them know that Tua wasn’t considering LSU and if Kiffin was to be the next offensive coordinator for the Tigers, they should give him a chance because he has the ability to run an offensive with either a pro-style or dual-threat quarterback. Alabama won the national championship last year with Jacob Coker, a pro-style quarterback.

My thoughts exactly. Class act. Wish the kid was more interested in LSU, comes across as mature and with good people around him.

Fine with me, now don't lose Brennan! Young man has been an ambassador for LSU since his verbal commitment. He has said, and done, all the right things. He continues to receive praise for his camp performances. KEEP him in the LSU family, GT!

Dang it, I really wanted a reason to hate this gump but he's got too much class.

Seems like the kid was raised right. Tua is going to be a good one.

Good news I guess but all this seems unnecessary. Did LSU really think Tua would come?

Unfortunately, Brennan isn't going to just close his recruitment now that he reopened it because Tua said "Don't worry man I'm not coming to take your job."

For me, this just goes to show that whatever game we were playing by offering Tua, there was no weight behind it and the risk didn't outweigh the reward.

Don't see a problem with LSU offering Tua.

I know recruiting is a messy business, but if Myles is my kid the ship has sailed.
