Seems to me LSU is reeling in upper echelon recruits earlier than any other time in the history of LSU football. This is probably due to the outstanding recruiting staff Les Miles and the LSU administration have assembled recently. Props to the Tigers for getting on the same level or better than any other program in the country. Thoughts?

Replaced Ball with Craig and you see a big difference.
I would love to see Bo Davis on this staff and Ensminger moved to another capacity.
Can't ever have enough great recruiters on a staff.

All I know about Ensminger is that he was a great player for LSU as QB and has had a lot of Louisiana ties with state coaches for many, many years. He must be doing something right he's still on the staff. He has upper level football IQ as well. You watch him on the sidelines and he knows what's going on. Go back to the Tenn. game and watch the end of the game when JJ was QB. He was the only one on the sidelines signaling for time out with time running out on clock. He was offensive coordinator at AtM a while back as well. I remember he called the draw play against us in Tiger stadium that won the game for the Aggies many years back when we played them annually. Maybe he should be offensive coordinator again. I'm not a big fan of our current offensive coordinator w play calling - whether it's his fault or not. Just my opinion.

There was only one problem with Ensminger calling for a timeout at the end of the Tennessee game in 2010. LSU was out of time outs.

It may have been Ole Miss game. I can't recall. All I remember is the camera showing him on sidelines calmly signaling for time out when everyone else was looking like deer in headlights on the coaching staff. I'm sure someone out there can find the link and back me up on this if they want. I'll bet you $10 and split the winnings.... LOL

As much criticism as Peveto gets, recruiting is the #1 reason he is on staff.

Ensminger could easily move into a role like Baglio or Nader to free up a spot.

How many years ago was that? No wonder you didnt recall correctly. Ensminger may be an upgrad e at OC but trying to call a timeout that went unnoticed almost a decade ago isnt a good reason.

Steve had to be stopped twice from going after Cam Cameron after the Ole Miss game. He was pissed that Cameron wouldn't stand up to the HC and tell him to let CC call the game.

I can't understand for any objective reason whatsoever for the play calling to be the way it's been.
