I think the sit out a year would help a lot. And I don’t buy the “coaches can leave whenever they want” argument. An employee and a student are not the same thing and shouldn’t be treated the same. And coaches can’t just leave. Lots of buyout dollars often have to be paid.

I think kids should only be allowed to enter once team has played last game even if it's after bowl game. The transfer portal is killing teams depth when bowl games come around. After bowl game go ahead enter nobody wants someone that dnt want to stick around. It might help kids also if coach knows he want to enter coach might give little extra PT to help with tape.

If the NFL went to the wild west free agency rules of college football, Saints fans would be paying an extra $500/game to have their vehicles looted in the parking garage.

In all honesty, the bulk of what LSU loses are players that are probably not starting next year. Yes, there has been 1 or 2………but for the most part players that we know will not start. We are bringing players in that at minimum push for lots of playing time. This also pushes everyone to work harder and harder to be the guy that gets on the field. The portal is going to be a benefit to schools that have the staff and resources to do this. Kelly has been a master at this so far.
