Wasn't his sister pretty much recruited by every college in the country for track? And I don't know much about A&M's women's track program, but I do know LSU's is no joke.

A&M filled their limit on signees.

Either:

A: They knew, or she informed them she was signing with LSU so they got the next best person

or

B: They got someone they felt was better.

If you're an LSU fan its A, if you're an A&M fan its B

This is exactly what happened.

They have the #1 recruiting class in the country. They take whoever they want.

In either case, I'm glad they did.

So Beloved isn't better than any of their signees? I'm not track person, but for the pub she got (aside from her being Tony's sister), she has to be a really good athlete .

She is a great athlete, but when the A&M coach wants you, he gets you.

Thats focusing on the wrong thing.

Our track team didnt sign her so the football team could sign her brother. Thats ridiculous

Exactly. She's one of the top runners in Texas. She's not some dead weight thats at LSU because of her brother. She will absolutely hold her own.

Pretty amazing that we had him and now Shaver is kicking some arse with our LSU track program

Also just noticed Bennie Brazell is an assistant coach on our track team

meh. You guys get too worked up over silly stuff. The same sorts of arguments were posted about RSJ once you lost him. The truth is there is a legitimate concern with both kids about whether their athleticism will translate to the football field down the line. Both are such elite athletes though that you take them and coach them up and hope it does.

But if you look at either's film you don't see an elite high school football player. You see an elite athlete playing high school football. And frankly there is nothing wrong with that as that's why you have coaches. Even if they never develop great football instincts, they will be good college players just on raw athleticism alone. And if they do develop them, they are freakish talents.

You're seriously saying this stuff about Tony Brown?

Are you Taylor Hamm or did you drink the Kool Aid at his recent cult meeting?

Look, I loved RSJ as well and think he can turn into a good WR, but to say Tony Brown is just an athlete is absolutely hysterical

I hate all other fan bases, but I'd like to point out that there were zero Katrina jokes in that thread. One guy mentioned players that were Katrina refugees, but that was it.

you are pretty stupid

While you're taking these kids from Texas could you take back all the coonass trash that Katrina brought over as well?

I'd be more than ok with Brown and Paris going to LSU if you'd do this for us in Houston.

Seriously, f*** the state of Louisiana.

It's a valid point. The kid wasn't even all-district as a JR. Does it mean much to me? Not really. Demontre Moore was completely unproductive in high school. Mike Evans had like 10 catches in his entire high school career. For as athletic as Brown is, he has been just good to this point in high school when he should have no problem dominating and being the best player on the field on every play. He uses his raw athleticism to be good. He needs coaching to be great.
