I'm not panicking with blackeny cause it's recruiting and everybody gone give there best shot. We just have to wait for our time to make our hard pitch. Louisville probably selling him to be the next Russ Smith which is a big role just like how Florida offered Dickerson starter minutes and he took the offer. Right now we really can't offer anything cause most of our starters could possibly coming back depending what kind of season jarrel and Mickey have. Gray and Hornsby fa sho gone be starters at the gaurd spots next year but it's good that johnny play everybody. So no matter the outcome we still end up with a good team next year.
Sampson
Thomas
Blackeny
Simmons still my 2015 class for now

If Antonio is coming here it'll be because Johnny told him he'll start. I doubt Hornsby would have a problem coming off the bench as a 6th man. Same as Elijah. Mick was seriously considering making the jump last year so I don't see anyway he stays unless he just has a terrible year or suffers a serious injury early in the season. Really think we sign 4-5 in November and 1-2 in the Spring. I see someone transferring, since attrition is just part of the business, which would open up another spot. Hopefully we'd be able to grab a lengthy wing who can shoot the 3 well. I really like Kaiser Gates. Kid's got good upside.

The one word I'd use to describe Gates is long. His arms are just stupid long. He looks like Stretch Armstrong. He's got a great frame and pretty good athleticism too. He's got a lot of stuff he needs to work on, but I think he could be a very, very good player with the right development. Like all conference, drafted type good. I really hope we get him and complete a 6 man class. I know it's a callous thing to say, but I kinda hope Darcy transfers. If we get two big men in this class we'll have a major logjam at the 4/5 and we'll be kinda thin at the 3. Darcy leaving opens up a spot to use on a wing. And I like Darcy a lot, I'm just not sure he'll get much playing time with the recruits we've brought in and the ones we might be bringing in.

You need to watch Darcy play more. He's crazy skilled for a big man. He didn't have size LSU needed and tbh, didn't have room for a player who wasn't ready to play last year. I think he'll shock quite a few this year.

I think Darcy loves it here and even if he never got to play again, I think he'd want to stay here, but I agree with D that Darcy still has a lot to offer. I think it is very possible Darcy gets the starting nod for LSU to start the year.

We will see how everything plays out but I have been 100% on my thinking that Darcy will be at LSU for 4 years.

i assume he'll be much stronger which will help him tons, he's quite comfortable witht he ball acutally, still learning the game. think he can still and will contribute down the line.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Epps and Patterson ... any update on their physical status?

The one thing about Darcy is he's defense. He just doesn't know what to do on that end. He doesn't use his arms well at all and has trouble going straight up, which leads to a lot of unnecessary fouls. He also gets pushed around way to easily under the basket but that has more to do with his weight than anything else. That can be fixed pretty easily. I do worry about bulking him up though because he'll lose some of that quickness he has, which is one major advantage he has over a lot of other bigs. So he's kinda stuck in no man's land in a way. Do you put weight on him so he doesn't get pushed around as easy on the low block, or do you let him stay at his current weight so he doesn't lose his quickness? I kinda think we might be able to use Darcy and Epps on the court at the same time. On offense Darcy would be able to set up on the wing or in the corner and drain threes while Aaron plays around the basket, but when we're on defense you'd switch Darcy on to the PF and Aaron on to the SF. I think that would work.

I think between Darcy TQ and jaylyn Patterson will be our transfers at the end of the season. TQ will never start for us until his senior year unless injury to gray. With Odo Mickey and Martin possibly leaving could possibly boost Darcy up but if we get Elijah Darcy won't ever start which he might be cool with. With blakeny gray It's gone be real hard for Patterson to get on the floor. He might stick around one more year to play with his former teammate Ben Simmons.

Do you see Blakeney as a PG or a SG?

I think if Blakeney committed we would be telling Sampson Blakeney is our PG...because Blakeney is good with the ball in his hands, and Sampson could still come in and play the 2.

Then we create a mess with Gray and Hornsby if they both return - but it's a good problem to have. Blakeneyt absolutely is a starter from game 1, and I think we would bring Sampson off the bench.

But JMO, if we got Blakeney, I dont think we get Sampson.

I think our best hope this class is something like:

Simmons
Thomas
Blakeney OR Sampson
Lott
Aussie

Predicting which kids will transfer is stupid. Predicting which will transfer before the season starts is really stupid. We clamor for kids to come here and then plan their exit before they play. Be better than that LSU basketball fans.

Was watching Blakeney recruit videos when I saw this guy on the side and decided to click it. Surprisingly, he has an LSU offer and is a solid point guard. Plus he has some solid dance moves:

Couldn't agree more. It's unfair to the players and very trashy.

I feel like any/all of the people who predominantly post basketball info here shouldn't be making claims or forming opinions on possible transfers unless there is pretty obvious information public. I really dislike it. It's a question that one should just deflect and say very little about.

There's not a lot of people who cover lsu basketball so it makes the main basketball people's word feel almost like a legitimate news source. We know players follow this site. We know players families follow site. No reason to make false accusations for whatever reason.

I gave a opinion on transfers with the probability of them returning. You guys and I have the making of LSU basketball team as being a contender. So that comes with these big time recruits as we can see that's the direction JJ is going. To get these players it comes with a price meaning you have to offer something good (starter or a major role). Plus college sports is becoming a transfer orginazation because these kids want to play. So I'm not looking down on any of our players I'm just looking at the scenarios we face by getting these elite recruits. Who would have thought Malik Morgan Anthony Hickey would have been dismissed but that's cause coach is looking to the future for better players. I'm a die hard fan and it rather basketball over our football team which may sound crazy to some. So it's not picking on the kids cause I would love for all them to contribute big time this year so we can get 20+ wins and get in the tournament.

Oh, I'm very familiar and kinda sad that LSU now has a big transfer/process culture now. I knew a new coach would change some things, so I hope it's not a trend.

This isn't true at all though. Morgan wasn't kicked off, and Hickey was dismissed from the team for reasons unrelated to his basketball performance. There are no better players that were taken in because we still have two scholarships open.

To me it seems that JJ dismissed Hickey cause he had the same player in Gray and that would have cut into his minutes. Malik had suppose to breakout last season and didn't, same for Shane which was all coach Trent Johnson recruits. It seems to me that he was ready to move his way but that's just my opinion. We would never know the truth but it is what it is.

That's absolutely wrong. 0 truth in this statement.
