Do you guys think this may have Gay rethink going to LSU? I was in Starkville yesterday and it is big talk and on Bo Bounds show in Jackson as I type.

I know it's not this simple, but he was able to watch both Grantham's and Aranda's defenses in the Citrus Bowl. I'm biased but to me that was a pretty succinct comparison of the two.
But as we always say, no telling what sways a 17-18 year old these days.

You have to look at needs how bad is MSU with linebackers. LSU is not in dire stratights but are in serious needs right now. They have one linebacker this year. Is Gay is looking at getting on the field the quickest then it would be (LSU) getting developed (LSU). But does the kid want to stay home is the real question. And only he can answer that. From his words sounds like he is serious about LSU.

seeing that Gays comments and interests in LSU is Aranda and being developed into a great LB then no i dont think Gay changes to MSU...how many lbs has Grantham developed..

Recruiting is still about relationships. You may be able to mend a fence or patch things up with a recruit that is still very close to your program after a good new hire. We saw this with Brennan and Narcisse. However, hiring Canada wasn't enough to sway Ausbon back or to get Akers.
The fact is, losing a coordinator and having to make a new hire will usually lose you more recruits than it bring in or keeps. If you are lucky, you can hold serve, as we seem to have done in offensive recruiting. As stated above, if Gay ends up at State, it's because he really wanted to go there and this hire just solidified it for him. If he is legitimately looking around, a good hire alone doesn't automatically reel him in.
