Why because he expects LSU with no instate competition to be in the top 5 in recruiting every year? Bamma is and have auburn in the same state!

Landon Collins goes to Alabama and all of a sudden LSU can't recruit?

What if we recruit all the good LA guys, but it's a weak batch of kids, what then?

I think '05 was miles first year, so that would be the reason we were #22 on rivals. Other than that we havent been outside of top 11 since 2002.

It doesn't help that the players are being demoted in rank in the middle of January 2012. I do wonder about the subjective aspect to these rankings.

I'm sure the recruiting services make some mistakes and miss some kids but as a whole they have been acurate. The five star kids are gennerally better

You can cite exceptions but you can't base recruiting in a big time program on the theory that 3 stars are as good as 5 stars!

Are you LSU's version of Tammy?

We have to win it all next year to retrench our dominance - the last past 8 years have been fueled by 2 national championships...win another one and the self perpetuating cycle of young kids wanting to be part of THE school will start all over again...we need to win next year with a an exciting new offense and a consistently strong defense and special teams ... the offense will change everything for us in many, many ways

You will remember it if and when in two to four years we are third or fourth in the west. One class like this may not hurt but two like this will. Just my two cents.

Why do you assume the recruiting is finished for this year?

With a big recruiting weekend this weekend, look for LSU's ranking to improve.

Per DD, fsu has in home visit With Edwards today. This makes Edwards doubtfull, as far as playing for LSU.

All 100% of the recruiting services have him going to FSU.

I trust this coaching staff to bring in quality guys and develop them into elite guys. Stars, rankings, and dazzle mean little if you don't have the coaching to back them up.

Keep telling yourself that. The bottom line is this recruiting class has hit a brick wall since the BCSCG debacle.

Yea this is what I am worried about, but a great season next year can cure all.

The programs rep wasn't built in one year and it won't crumble either. But it doesn't take many.

What bothers me is that our permanent western division nemesis is #1 in recruiting almost every damn year. Why does Miles get so badly outrecruited by Saban? The talent differential did show on January 9th.

Not really.

In fact, on Nov 9th, we looked like a more athletic, better conditioned team, who outplayed Bama in the 2nd half and definitely in OT.

On Jan 9th, the biggest and most glaring difference in our two teams was at QB. We have not had a QB in 4 years. That right there could be the difference in an 8-5 team and a 14-0 team.

The only other major difference in on the O-Line. Both Bama and LSU have great D-Lines, but in the first game, our O-Line at least held their own to a certain extent. In the BCGCG, our OLine looked absolutely horrible.

I hate when people say this. I don't think anyone expects this class to have much impact on next season.

Just because someone makes a negative comment about recruiting doesn't mean they think the program is falling apart.

This is not meant for LSU91, but if someone just states that it sucks that we didn't get a recruit, someone is going to make a chicken little comment.

I think the last few weeks have sucked. Missing out on LC sucked. Losing Miller sucked. Losing GK sucked. Realizing that we could have kept Miller if we knew about GK sucked. Just because I think those things sucked doesn't mean I think the program is falling apart.

I think we are in great shape overall and we'll be a great team for the next few years. Beyond that, no one knows.

The thing that I do know is that we need something positive to happen to turn momentum back in our favor. This is already a good class, but BCS championships are built on stringing together a few great classes. One subpar class doesn't hurt badly. However, once you have one, it puts more pressure on to get a great class the next year. Hopefully we can end strong this year to take some of that pressure off of next year.

Teams have bad games. We just had ours at the worst possible time.

On October 31, the Rams beat the Saints 31-21, and the game wasn't as close as the score. Do you think the Rams are better than the Saints? Did the talent differential show in that game?

What about all the other teams that had horrible seasons, and didn't even go to the BCSCG...
